Back to work!

Apologies for the radio silence over the past week!

I attended my first anime convention as a vendor this past weekend. Unfortunately, it didn't go great for me - I basically broke even just barely making my table cost and expenses back. I'm going to have to rethink my plan of action and try to do more work to appeal to a larger audience. (most of my art is Warcraft related, so there wasn't much interest in it since its an anime focused con) I got a lot of compliments though, and I think my prices were in line with everyone else's.. there just wasn't much to go around I think. The general audience seemed to be very young and simply didn't have that much spending money.

However! I met a lot of new and wonderful people, and I consider it a valuable learning experience. :) It was pretty nice being able to disconnect a little from the internet and see my friends again too.  I'm hoping to do a few more conventions in 2018, which may include ones in DC and North Carolina. I'm trying to focus on ones within driving distance for me, so sadly no west coast ones for now!

That being said, I'll have a massive Etsy update in the next week or so!

I'm afraid that this month's digital package may be a bit light due to the only things I've been working on are badges and my Kickstarter. So I hope you all understand! I'll be sharing a lot of my art assets with you guys and all the KS promo goodies as well for those of you that have physical mail from me. :)

I've never tabled at a convention, but from what I've heard from artists who do, breaking even and meeting lots of new people is great for your first time doing it! I don't think most artists make much profit at convention tables, especially when they're new to the scene, so the fact that you broke even while selling pieces that were outside the focus of the con is pretty awesome. Getting your name and work out there, meeting people, and making connections is what doing conventions it all about, though, so it sounds like you did pretty well. :)
