Progress Update

A few days ago I wanted / hoped to be done. At that point I was nearly finished adding new features. Namely, I completely revamped the Grimoire (status) menu, added the bathing system (finally), new intimacy system (randomized s*x events), Memory Gallery (review past events), and a few major fixes to inventory management.

At that point I should have been free to work on adding more visual content like events.
Unfortunately around that time I ran afoul of some bugs that took a day or two to sort out. I also happened upon a few events that weren't properly being triggered, which resulted in less content than I anticipated (4-5 scenes were actually blocked off from the game due to this mistake on my part).

After fixing those, I then turned my attention to a bit more play testing to make sure everything works as intended.
Now that those are done and I feel a bit better about the state of the project, I can *confidently* say that all I need to do now is add more content. Since I'm already late, and you all have patiently waited this long - I want to make your wait more than worth it. I'm doing this by taking a bit longer to add more event related content (story, chat and bond events, etc).

The extra additions will hopefully allow me to hit my personal goal of 2-4 hours of new content with this update. The main reason that's ambitious is because this was a normal update, instead of a pure content update. Truth be told, I've already put in about 40-60 dev hours on the project this week, and that's not counting the work I did before christmas.
My main concern now is adding enough playable content that it's worth it for you all. Some of this will be evergreen additions while the rest will be new additions to the evolving storylines.
Here is a short list of the things I sorted out in the past few days:
- # - Tweaked the Journal Study event rewards. (Lowered Alchemy level ups!)
- # - Fixed a bug with inventory paging where switching tabs while on any page other than the first resulted in an error.
- # - Added a description for Moon Magic trait (via Lunar Lily, acquired through a Ryoko event).
- # - Updated some visuals for the crafting screen and implemented material scrolling / paging.
- # - Spent several hours tinkering with the mass recycling / delete item feature, didn't seem to work too well. Has been removed.
- # - Quality and Value sorting has been added instead.
- # - 2 Events Added "Breach".
- # - Lyra Event added 'Waterfall'. Unlocks bathing area.
- # - Capped Maximum number of gathers possible in each realm to 13. Also capped the Max Gathers. (temp fix, until i sort out what's wrong)
- # - Fixed a repeating event for Lyra / Ryoko.
- # - Fixed a major issue with the spells system that may have caused some issues, and also revamped the screen so that spells are easier to use.
- # - Minor Bugs found and fixed (6)
- # - Major Bugs found and fixed (3)
- # - Slightly tweaked the gains on Ryoko naps.
- # - Cleaned up old, unused code.
- # - Added the Skirmish Skill 'Spider's Web' and implemented it into game play.
- # - Tweaked the skirmish skill so it's a bit more random and doesn't trigger constantly.
- # - Switched up some of the convo options so that you don't have to constantly re-engage NPCs to chat or bond.
- # - Fixed an error with some of Fira's events misfiring.
- # - Fixed an event error pertaining to the missing Fira event not showing the proper video.
- # - Added intimacy events for Grimm and Ryoko.
- # - Tinkered with some backend stuff, improving earlier methods that were counter productive to development.
- # - Organized earlier game events / scenes for replay.
- # - Halved the amount of xp gained from Alchemy training with Ryoko, and changed level up mechanics related to alchemy as well.
- # - Capped the amount of xp you could gain from mass training for Alchemy training.
- # - New event, unlocking Fanservice Gallery and Memory Vault as a result.
- # - +2 Memory Vault events added.
All this with a mindset to further add:
3+ new chat events per hom, 3 intimacy scenes each for Ryoko(2), Grimm (1) and Lyra (0), 6 new bond events per hom, and 4 more main story events (most of which were underway since a few weeks back).
On a personal note--
I have also officially learned my lesson. I think in the future it's better to just give PROGRESS reports towards the completion of a release rather than set hard dates. With that in mind, I think I will change release dates to affect this and simply do weekly or bi-weekly progress reports leading up to release -- and any daily or bi-daily updates the closer the release date comes. With that in mind, I'm about 85% done with what I set out to do. I'm taking a short break, then I'll work on finishing up. And trust me, no one wants this release done more than I do. A break is calling my name!
