Devlog - 8th November - Early Access Status & Misc

Hi,

Early Access Phase 1 for 1.50 is running quite well.

There were a handful of dialogue and pony racing issues which are already fixed in Update 1.50_09.

While waiting for feedback on 1.50 I experimented a bit with the new python/pygame version I plan to switch to by end of the month when I update my Renpy Version and migrate the SJX code.

I've always wanted a bit more flashy explosions in the combat game so I tried some simple particle system and it works quite well. You can have a peek at it in the following short screencap / video:

Let me know what you think. Really looking forward to upgrade my SDK :)

The Krell will explode green ,Vorons blue, Swarm purple and the rest normally :)

Yes, any kind of sound effect explosion would be artistic Liberty because that is inaudible in space. As per explosions, I think those work well enough in space, just think about a supernova which explodes a ton of stuff out into the universe

Maybe some polygonal kind of center shape that quickly shows. In any case, below the explosion there will be the normal wreck / loot icon, which also adds a bit more substance. I'm glad the animation as such was comparatively easy to pull of :)

Its a very fireworks like explosion . I would say it needs abit of something reminding of a flash, maybe some quick lines going away from the origin point.

The color can be set freely in the code, so I will probably adjust them to type of craft destroyed...

Looks good. Just curious. Is the color flexible or set to the one shown? I'm glad the new Renpy works for you.
