Based that design on two I own, which look similar to the ones from Maze in the TV Show... :) They are actually quite useful for gardening work (which is where they came from originally I think) :)

Halloween itself seems a mixture of Samhain (celtic harvest celebration) and All Hallow's Eve, a christian celebratory date ( = the night before All Hallows/Saints Day). So its part Christian tradition at least :) Even the trick or treating is kind of a christian tradition, where the poor would come to your house and offer to pray for your soul in exchange for small cakes on the evening before All Hallows Day ... Actually had to look that up but learned something :)
