Story Idea: Ruby Empire Origins

For a while now I’ve had this idea rattling around in my head. But rather than it being my usual short form I think this would make a great novel.

Anyways, I was listening to “I See Fire” and was thinking about the Hobbit. I first came to the idea of an all woman team. Then but by big the Ruby Empire worked itself in.

Where the Ruby Empire stands right now for me in a mystery. As most of you know I’m not happy with it after I left a commissioner control the narrative for my universe. But one thing that stands right now is the over arching villain that will be the Blood Mage Balafelamona who helped create the liches and manipulated their lives to where Amit the First put himself into self imprisonment, as well as the Sapphire Lich, and for forcing Theodred into an urn.

This story would focus on Bala’s downfall as well as the sudden decline of dragons and the everfires which were the creators of the Ruby Empire as we know it. Bala created the “Ruby” empire by making her beloved rubies the center of all currency. She tricked Amit the first into building the Rakshasa Kingdom and for creating an army for herself. Her ultimate motive was to get rid of the dragons so she could be the sole controller of the everfires.

The story would have a young woman take center stage in bringing her down. She would see the death of an ancient dragon and their everfire would enter her in order for her to have the power and influence to save the world. This would lead her to the Rakshasa Kingdom, whose current king is the son of Amit the First and Bala. A fact which he keeps hidden from his daughter who insists on leading the fight against Bala. The king knows that no man could stand a chance against Bala but her mistrust of women gives her a weakness that can take advantage of. The hero would lead an army of all women to fight Bala. The Rakshasa princess would run away from home to join the cause.
