Week 324! (Page 479 Script)

THIS MARKS PAYMENT FOR THE WEEK OF 10/18-10/24.

Third and last script update for October, page 479. I'll put it here at the start, but there should at least be a sketch preview up for the last update for this month on Halloween.

So bringing up the topic of how Lucy knows any of this conspiracy stuff and how she was around to help Fox Kale not get killed by Hugo requires some mild flashbacks in order to explain how Lucy found Kale and did all the stuff that's happened, at least generally and vaguely. It also helps to explain some other things in the chronological timeline of the comic that people might not have thought of, such as "why did Lucy not help Fox Kale when Max attacked him?". After all, the arc where Lucy creates Kale's Door and reaches out to him via Liddy happened BEFORE the arc where Max and Fox Kale had a big fight. Why didn't she step in then? Well, she says she didn't want to reveal herself yet, as she considered it too dangerous. She is, after all, allegedly just some random stranger that happened to stumble into all this. Maybe she didn't think she was powerful enough to do anything, maybe she wanted to wait until they could meet in real life at the museum, maybe she was afraid. Lots of potential explanations.

I dunno how many people actually read these big paragraphs, but I guess I'll take a gamble and reveal something just for Patreon: Lucy is actually lying. 

Or, rather, she's leaving a lot out and twisting things around to intentionally hide some stuff. A lot of the stuff she's saying in both the previous comic and this comic are more or less generally "true", but a lot of the details are getting left out and she's using her albeit-genuine flustered state to hide a lot of that. It's basically a situation where someone is intentionally being vague and saying very broad true things to get out of having to explain the details. There are actually at least a couple things she's actually outright definitively lying about, though, which are obviously things that will be revealed far in the future, as is customary with this comic. :B
