Because Tanjiro can smell him in a city full of people, which would always blow his cover. If the Hasharas were to all pull up on Muzan at once cause he was pointed out by Tanjiro, it would be a serious problem for him to deal with

That time Tanjiro encountered Muzan, it wasn’t because Muzan wanted to see him. Tanjiro’s super smell allowed him to recognize Muzan while he was in hiding, if no Hashira or the master himself has ever seen him is because he doesn’t want to be found 🤭

This is compelling scene writing for the Hashiras, When you can see that each person has a valid point, and that it's consistent with their worldviews, the conflict it leads to feels natural. Beyond that, it shows a lot about the structure of the corps; with the leader being incredibly respected, but still he has to ask the Hashiras to accept Nezuko, not just order it. Also that line about how he was happy to see they made it 6 months without any "personnel changes".... yeesh.

One thing has gathered my interest. There is a hole where sunlight is hitting Nezuko, you can see at 17:50 clear sunlight hitting her head and blood seeped in where the light came in. Is she not burning up now because it was overlooked
