Anglo-Saxon Ceorls & Dwarf Bolt Thrower

This month, we've been working on two very different releases—but both have brought a lot of joy, each in their own way.

On the historical side, we’ve expanded our range with a new set of Anglo-Saxon Ceorls. These aren’t elite warriors. No heavy armor, no exaggerated heroic poses—just simple men, standing their ground with a round shield, a spear, and a sense of duty. And that’s exactly why we love them.

The ceorls predate the fyrd and represent a time when defending your home was a personal necessity, not a noble command. We’ve tried to capture that raw, grounded feeling. The poses are subtle but tense, like they’re all one breath away from a sudden clash. They're great for historical games or low-fantasy campaigns with a more grounded tone.

On the fantasy side...
We've gone big. Our new Dwarf Bolt Thrower for The Bannerman line is finally here, and we’re really proud of it. Instead of following the usual Roman-inspired ballista look (which has been done over and over again), we took a different route—one that leans heavily on cinematic inspiration (yes, The Lord of the Rings) and dwarven engineering.

It still fits standard tabletop dimensions, but visually it’s something else entirely. It’s not just a war machine—it’s a wheeled fortress. Heavy, imposing, and unmistakably dwarven. Exactly the kind of model that holds the line... and doesn't blink.

Both sets are now ready and will be available for printing this June through Patreon.

Ceorls anglosajones & Lanzabirotes enano

Este mes hemos estado trabajando en dos líneas bastante diferentes, pero que nos han dado muchas alegrías por caminos muy distintos.

Por un lado, hemos seguido desarrollando nuestra gama histórica con una nueva tanda de ceorls anglosajones. Son figuras humildes, sin armaduras pesadas ni posturas heroicas exageradas, pero eso precisamente es lo que las hace tan potentes visualmente. Nos interesa mucho representar ese tipo de guerrero anónimo, anterior al fyrd, que defendía su aldea con lo que tenía: escudo, lanza y determinación.

Son figuras perfectas para quienes busquen partidas históricas más narrativas o una ambientación de baja fantasía. Estamos especialmente contentos con lo bien que ha funcionado la variedad de poses—hay una sensación de tensión contenida, como si cada uno estuviera a punto de lanzarse a la refriega.

Y por otro lado…
Tenemos algo mucho más brutal: un lanzabirotes enano para The Bannerman. Aquí hemos querido romper un poco con la estética tradicional de artillería inspirada en Roma, que se ha convertido casi en estándar por pura repetición. En lugar de eso, hemos mirado hacia el cine (sí, El Señor de los Anillos) y hacia un diseño más cerrado, reforzado, con más volumen y peso.

Sigue respetando las medidas clásicas del juego, pero visualmente es otra historia. No es solo una máquina de guerra: parece un bastión con ruedas. Una pieza que grita "esto no lo desmontas ni en tres turnos".
