Symbiote Boyfriend: Sonata 2 (complete)

Arsinoe lays out the whole story for me - her sister, the explosion, meeting Ghost, and everything that has led us up to this point. To be honest, I’m overwhelmed. Just a few short hours ago, I had been trying to shop using a gift card. Now, I’m at the center of an action movie plot. Apparently this Rabid is hunting down other symbiotes, these creatures from a planet called Heltith. Sonata and I just happened to be his newest target.

“I don’t know the specifics, all I know is that he’s hunting all of us he can, which is why he caused the explosion at the lab - which then caused my sister to change.” Arsinoe frowns and fidgets with her hands. “It’s a sticky situation. I’m sorry you had to get pulled into it, Julio.”

I sigh heavily and feel Sonata tighten around my shoulders. “What are you talking about? You didn’t cause this.” I try to put on a smile. “You saved me, I should be thanking you. You saved us.” I touch Sonata’s head as he peeks out from my shirt.

Ghost coils around Arsinoe’s neck like a scarf. She shimmers like a gemstone, looking very much like her namesake. Arsinoe is very pretty, with deep brown, warm skin and wide, bright eyes. She has several scars along her face and hands, probably from the explosion. Her long hair is held up in a bun at the top of her head like a crown. Her cheeks darken. and she smiles shyly. “I only did what I had to do. As long as I have my eye on Rabid, I will hopefully find my sister. I was just lucky to find you too.”

Sonata rises from my shirt, shifting to a very faint purple. “You’re an assassin, correct?”

“Sonata,” I scold gently.

“No, he is right,” Ghost replies cooly. “My main role back home was an assassin, but since I was born with my sister attached to me, I was her handler as well. It was my job to make sure she didn’t go too far on her missions.”

“Which she did?” Sonata prompts gently.

Ghost goes silent and nudges up against Arsinoe’s cheek. “We found out that Rabid had been using us, sending us out on undisclosed invasion campaigns. My sister became volatile, and joining with Siti has only helped to sow that hatred into something extremely dangerous. They’re a powderkeg.”

“What will you do, then?” I inch closer to Arsinoe. “If they’re so bent on killing Rabid that they can’t see reason...” I stop myself, realizing it may be a question too far for even them to answer.

Arsinoe looks into my eyes. “I’m not sure,” she murmurs quietly. She presses her full lips into a tight line. “I have a lot of hopes, but I don’t like to think about what I might have to do.”

I nod my head solemnly. “I’m sorry.”

Arsinoe is silent for a beat, then tilts her head to the side and tries to smile. “I like your music. You’re very talented.”

My heart flutters a bit. “Wow, thanks.” I pet the top of Sonata’s head. “I can’t take all the credit. This one here makes the magic happen.”

Arsinoe looks closer at Sonata. “I’ve never heard of a symbiote with such a gentle name,” she says. “I know there are others out there like Beast and Rabid, along with someone called Spite.”

“It’s not a name I’ve heard of either,” Ghost says softly. She comes closer to Sonata, who ducks halfway under my shirt. “Why are you here on Earth?”

Sonata shakes his head. “No reason in particular.”

Ghost’s eyes narrow, but she slips back to Arsinoe and leaves the subject to rest. Sonata keeps himself hidden.

“We’ll take you home in the morning,” Arsinoe says. “Until then, I think it’s safe we hide here. After that, Ghost and I will keep an eye on you in case Rabid shows back up again. And don’t worry! Ghost and I won’t get in your way at all. We’ll stay out of sight.”

I’m not sure why this bothers me. “What for? Wouldn’t it be better if you stayed close rather than stalking me?”

“It would be better for us not to disrupt your life,” Ghost replies.

I shrug. “My life already is disrupted.”

Ghost and Arsinoe exchange looks. I rub the top of Sonata’s head as he leans further out. “I mean, you don’t accept an alien lifeform as a partner without expecting something weird happening to your life. I hoped it would be a peaceful existence, but not all dreams come true.” I put on a smile as Sonata rises to rest against my cheek. “If you’re going to be around us, you might as well be with us.”

“Uh...” Arsinoe seems a bit surprised by this response. “You would want to hang out with Ghost and I?”

“Isn’t it better if you’re closer? Not only that, it’ll be nice to have someone to talk to who understands what it’s like. You and Ghost, and Sonata and I are all in a similar situation. It’ll be nice having someone I can talk to about this.” I look down, seeing wrappers from fast food joints and gas station snack bars on the floor. “Besides, when was the last time you had a good meal?”

“Since the first time she went to your restaurant.” Ghost gives Arsinoe a scolding look.

“If you want, we can just pretend we’re dating.” I say this completely off the cuff, not meaning anything by it.

Arsinoe flinches, and her cheeks flush darker. “Fake dating?” She coughs a bit. “Isn’t that a bit silly?”

I realize it is a bit ridiculous, and my cheeks also begin to warm. “It would be easier, right? It would at least explain why we’re spending so much time together. Not to mention my parents would feed you some good food for once.”

Arsinoe is twisting the ring on her finger. “But don’t you have someone who might take offense to you dating someone else?”

I shake my head. “I mean, Sonata? Do you mind if I pretend to date Arsinoe?”

Sonata smiles and kisses my cheek. “She’s cute. You should just date.” I squish him down a bit and look apologetically to Arsinoe.

“He’s honest, at least,” Ghost sighs.

“I mean,” Arsinoe chuckles. “It would be nice to have a friend. It’s just been Ghost and I for so long.”

I release Sonata, who wiggles excitedly. “Then it’s settled. When we go back tomorrow, I’ll just tell my parents you’re my girlfriend. Then you can hang around as much as you want.”

“This isn’t just hanging around,” Ghost warns. “this is about protecting your life and fighting off Rabid.”

“It’s less stressful to call it hanging out,” I moan.

The next morning, we sneak out of their hiding spot. Once we’re on the street, I push Arsinoe in her wheelchair. It seems like a rather old and rickety wheelchair, and I wonder if she just had to grab it for convenience. “Let’s stop here and get coffee.” Arsinoe points to a cafe. “Ghost loves coffee.”

“How funny! So does Sonata. But let’s go to this one down the street, it’s a lot better.” I continue to push her.

Arsinoe grabs the wheels to stop me. “What do you mean? That place doesn’t look like anything special,” Arsinoe pouts.

“Exactly,” I chuckle. “It’s not a chain, and everything is handmade. I promise, if it’s not the best cup of coffee Ghost has ever swam in, I’ll give you a gift card to the other place.”

Arsinoe releases the wheels. “Fine. But don’t ever push me again when I tell you to stop. Understand?”

I bow my head. “I’m sorry for that. I promise I won’t.”

I take her to the cafe. It’s an old store front that hasn’t been updated much, but it’s the smell of the place that draws you in - fresh pastries and bread, hand-ground coffee. I can see the surprise on Arsinoe’s face as we come in.

“Julio!” The family who owns it is very close with my family. We buy their bread all the time for some of our dishes. I order coffee for us, and a mixed dozen of their pastries. Arsinoe and I sit outside on the patio to eat, while Sonata and Ghost float in their own cups of coffee. I watch as Arsinoe takes the first bite. Her eyes light up, and I can tell she’s melting like butter.

“I’m sorry I doubted you,” she sighs dreamily.

“The difference between handmade and hand-delivered,” I chuckle.

Ghost lifts up from the cup. “The coffee is perfect!”

Sonata rests his head on the rim of his cup. “It’s the best. You should try the Kenyan blend.”

Arsinoe smiles softly as she looks at me. When I catch her staring, she looks away quickly, ducking her head down to take a sip of her coffee.

“This is nice,” I murmur. “Most of my friends are out of town now, and a lot of my classmates at school are younger than me, so...”

“I noticed you spend a lot of time with your family. It must be nice.” She casts her eyes down as a sad look fills them. “My parents were always dealing with their business, and they often sent Siti and I to boarding schools. And when they died, well...”

I reach out and place my hand over hers. I’m not sure what to say, but it feels like she needs a little comfort. “My parents are going to love you.”

She looks up, surprised.

“I mean it. They are. They’re going to be extremely curious, but as long as you’re nice to me, they’ll like you,” I tease.

Arsinoe giggles, pressing her knuckles to her mouth. “I’ll try to be nice. No promises, though.”

For the next few days, Arsinoe, Ghost, Sonata and myself are inseparable. She meets me after school and we walk home together. Sometimes she stays the night at my place, and I let her sleep in my bed while I take the couch. And my parents adore her. I think they’ve sent her off with more food than she’ll ever know what to do with.

One night on the couch, Sonata nudges me. “Are you awake?”

“You know I am. What’s wrong?” I murmur.

Sonata rests on my cheek. “The way we feel, is it okay?”

I yawn and stretch out. “What do you mean, Sonata?”

He stretches over my skin, wrapping around my waist and gripping my thighs. “You know,” he huffs. “The way we feel about...” He looks up towards the bedroom door.

“I know.” I cup the back of Sonata’s head to my cheek. “It’s strong, isn’t it? Both of us like this.”

Sonata wriggles excitedly. “It’s different than just us. How come?”

I smile sleepily. “Because it’s more.”

“We should be terrified for our lives. Rabid is out there waiting, and we could get attacked any second. Are we stupid or something?”

I chuckle and kiss him lovingly. “Maybe.”

“I guess I don’t mind being stupid. I still like this.” Sonata murmurs.

One afternoon as I head to school from the bus stop, I pass a secondhand shop with a wheelchair on display. It’s much nicer and newer than the one Arsinoe has been using. It’s a bit out of my acceptable price range, but I figure it will be worth it, especially since Arsinoe’s has been giving her issues lately.

“We might not be able to get coffee for a while, but I think seeing Arsinoe comfortable will be worth it.” I sigh.

“You two have been getting closer,” Sonata purrs. “Ghost and I can tell.”

“You and Ghost have been getting quite chummy too,” I smirk at him. “Sharing your cups of coffee - it’s rather cute.”

Sonata snuggles into the nook of my neck. “Don’t make me blush!”

“It’s nice having them around,” I confess. “You don’t mind that it's not just the two of us?”

“The more, the merrier,” Sonata chimes. “It feels like we’re a family, like we’re all supposed to be here.”

I kiss the top of Sonata’s head. “I’ve been thinking that too.”

After school, I see Arsinoe and Ghost waiting in the usual spot. There’s a small garden just outside of campus, and they park themselves under the willow tree. I’m so excited to give Arsinoe the new wheelchair, I run out into traffic without looking. When I do, a car nearly hits me and honks loudly. I nearly jump out of my skin and fall down onto the pavement, then scramble and fall again trying to stand up.

I quickly cross and look at Arsinoe and Ghost, who are staring at us strangely. “Are you okay?” Arsinoe asks.

I swallow and nod. “I guess...” I push my hair from my face and I see my arm is bleeding. “Oh, uh...”

Sonata wraps around my arm. “I’ll take care of it.”

I sit down on a park bench and catch my breath. “Guess I wasn’t paying attention.”

“What on earth were you doing?” Ghost asks.

I take out the wheelchair I got and unfold it. “I got this for you, and I was just excited. I know it’s not the best, but it’s way better than what you have right now. The wheels won’t stick and the brakes will work. And there’s no rust at all. I checked.”

Arsinoe reaches for me, grabbing me and pulling on my shirt. Her kiss is warm and tastes like cherry lip balm. I’m stunned, almost unsure what to do, but soon I lean into it and return the kiss. I cup her cheek in my hand, smoothing my thumb under her eye. “You’re the sweetest man I have ever met,” Arsinoe murmurs as our lips part.

I chuckle nervously, almost guffawing from the nerves. “I just wanted to help you. You’re doing so much for Sonata and me. You’ve saved our lives. I wish I could do more.”

Arsinoe kisses me again. “I mean it,” she whispers. “You didn’t have to do this for me.”

I look into those deep, beautiful eyes of hers and my heart skips a beat. “I wanted to, Arsinoe. I wanted to make you happy.”

She smooths her palm over my chest to move my shirt back in place. “You and Sonata already do make us happy.”

My heart hammers hard, and I can’t contain myself. I kiss her again, soft and loving. She smiles as we do, and giggles when I pull back. “Let’s go home. It’s getting pretty warm out.”

On our way back to my place, we donate the old wheelchair to a thrift store. Once at home, we go to my room and I close the door behind me. Sonata is moving across my skin, spreading out and squeezing tight as I look at Arsinoe. Ghost has moved over Arsinoe’s fingertips as she unbuttons her clothes. I remove my shirt, then join Arsinoe as she moves onto the bed. They touch us, moving their hand over our skin as it turns from bright purple to pink. “You’re a mood ring,” Arsinoe beams.

“You turn invisible,” I blurt.

Arsinoe and Ghost open their dress to reveal their opal skin. I dip down, kissing their shoulder and chest. My lips move up their neck until I meet Arsinoe’s. Her tongue presses into my mouth, and again I taste cherry lip balm. They pull us down onto the bed with them, wrapping their long arms around our shoulders. Sonata and I stroke our hand down their body, seeing the colors swirl, the flesh turning translucent and then reappearing.

“Julio,” Arsinoe’s voice squeaks.

I lift my head to look at her. “You doing okay?”

She nods. “I want it, I do. But I’ve never...” Her cheeks grow darker and the flush spreads to her ears. “Only with Ghost. Never with...”

I kiss her softly. “Just tell us what you want. We’ll take care of you.”

Arsinoe smiles shyly and nods. I kiss her again before Ghost and Sonata fully envelop us. They pose shyly on the bed, slowly pulling up their legs. Sonata and I lick our chops, showing them the two tongues we have. “Oh my,” they giggle.

We stroke down their body, slowly moving between their legs and parting them. Our tongues graze over their belly, their hips. We lick their thighs before settling into place. My heart is pounding wildly, and it feels like it might burst from my chest. I’m so excited and nervous. I want to do a good job, but this is a first for me as well.

We press our tongues to their labia, feeling the heat and wetness that greets us. It’s heavenly. Sonata further opens our mouth, pressing our tongues closer, lapping up and down before swirling them. Above us, Arsinoe and Ghost are quiet, but their hips move to meet our touch. We reach out to take their hand. They lace their fingers with ours, gripping us tightly.

“It’s soft,” Sonata moans. “So warm!”

“You can go deeper,” Ghost breathes.

We press closer, and one tongue slips inside their vulva as their hips buck. I moan against them, and Arsinoe’s voice finally breaks through.

“It feels good, doesn’t it?” Ghost purrs. “Do you want to feel more, my love?”

“Yes,” Arsinoe whimpers.

We take the hint and slip our fingers inside as well. They tighten around us, squeezing and palpitating. We move slowly at first, watching their motions, listening to their breath. “Stop,” Arsinoe gasps.

We pull away, lifting up as they fall onto the bed. They look so beautiful, so lovely, I could almost cry. They reach for us, pulling us back down upon them.

“You’re shaking,” I whisper. “We can stop if you want. We don’t have to continue.”

They shake their head. “I’m ready. It’s okay.”

We kiss as I penetrate their body. It’s warm and deep, melting through me, reaching every nerve ending. Sonata and I moan as their grip on us tightens. We can barely move at first, but after a few moments, our hips begin to rock. I feel everything so deeply that it makes me weak. Being wrapped up in their arms, hearing them sigh and moan, is enough to make any man want to cry. Sonata and I move as one for them, pleasuring them and bringing the most fevered pitch to their voice. We kiss and lick their body, worshipping it.

An hour later, we lie exhausted together. Ghost and Sonata snuggle on a pillow together, while Arsinoe and I kiss and touch one another. I think I’ve just about kissed every scar on her body. I gently trace her back where the worst of them are, kissing her shoulders and neck. She rolls over and smiles at me shyly. “You don’t have to do that.”

“I want to. I want every inch of you to feel loved.” I kiss her palm and down her wrist. “You and Ghost are wonderful.”

Arsinoe bites her lip. “So are you and Sonata. You make a perfect pair.” She cups my face between her palms. Her long hair hangs loose for the first time I’ve known her, thick and heavy, draping over her body in a luxurious fashion. I can’t help but want to touch her, to feel her warm skin on mine.

“Easy, boy,” she coos. “I’m still recovering from your last bout of affection.”

I lie back and look at her. “Sorry, I’ll behave.”

She wrestles her hair away from her face and lies back down on the pillow. “I never meant for this to happen. I just wanted to help you.”

“Did you want it to happen?” I ask.

“One always wants.” She strokes her palm down my chest and rests it on my belly. “What if we have to go away?”

I take her hand back and kiss it. “I know finding your sister is your top priority. If you have to go, we’ll figure something out.”

Her expression turns apologetic. “I won’t ask you to go with me. I know your family is important to you.”

I nod to her. “But if we are a danger to them, then we might have to. I’ve been having to consider that. If Rabid or even your sister could pose a threat to my family, we will go, but it will not be your fault.”

“It scares me to think that. It’s so important to you.”

I pull her into my arms as Sonata wraps around my back. Ghost slips over Arsinoe’s arms, and we’re all locked in an embrace. “I’d rather them be safe than anything,” I whisper. “And if we do have to go, I’ll have you, You’re both family too.”

Arsinoe looks up with tears in her eyes as Ghost nuzzles to her cheek. “We love you.”

“We love you.”

I never imagined loving someone like Sonata, so imagine my surprise loving Arsinoe and Ghost as well. This life is strange, but I’m happy for it, even if danger is right around the corner.

Suddenly, Ghost and Arsinoe sit up in bed with alarm.

“What is it?” Sonata asks.

“Beast. We can feel her nearby.” They turn and look at us with concern. “She’s coming for him.”
