Now that the background is finally done, I could start working on Richard.
I think tweening is a good thing and saves a lot of time, but it doesn't replace everything.
I used here light filters (only the white parts, the middle of the face is drawn darker) and took the drawing apart:
- Body
- Eyes
- Sunglasses
- Nose
- Hand
That way I can add a light filter to each part and make it more "3D".
+ I added to all these an extra layer for the outlines, because on such a close up shot it looks weird if the light filter covers the outlines too. I think it looks pretty decent. ♥
This is quite some work, but not all scenes will be lit like this, so it's definitely worth making it at least these few shots a bit fancier.
