White Rabbit Boyfriend: Ilosovic (complete)

Once upon a time, the stars looked down on the land and saw that the grass was tall. The vast plains of the ground were covered and nothing else could be seen; not the forests, not the beaches, not the mountains. Everything was tall green grass as far as the eyes could see. To the stars, this was a travesty. They had no view, no craggy mountains or trees or roses to gaze upon, merely blue oceans and green grasses.

So the stars came down from their perches, running down to earth, where they started feasting on the grass until it was barely an inch high. The perfectly white stars looked around and were pleased with their work, happy that now all of the land could be seen for them to enjoy. There was just one problem - the stars had eaten so much they could no longer return to the sky. They had become plump and soft, as well as used to the ground. They were no longer stars; instead, they became the first White Rabbits.

The former stars were all very saddened by this, and also horribly frightened. The ground was not safe for them. They were small and so white, they could not hide even during the day. They could be hunted! After all, the ground was inhabited by creatures of all sizes, and some would want to keep the Rabbits as prisoners if they didn’t want to eat them. The White Rabbits started hopping, hoping they could bounce back into the sky where they belonged. They started to leap higher and higher. Perhaps there was a way they could go back home!

That was when the Moon noticed, and realized they could not allow the White Rabbits to return to being stars. After all, ever since the stars fell to the ground, the Moon had been the truest beauty in the sky. Unwilling to relinquish their new position, the Moon sent down beams to deal with the stars.

These silvery beams walked on the ground as sleek creatures made for hunting. They became the first Cats to grace the land. As the beams started hunting and taking to the ground, they grew fed up with the Moon’s constant complaining. They took to their new role as Cats and began to ignore the Moon. They did as they pleased, sleeping during the day when it was warm and cozy, hunting when they felt like it, and knocking over things to have a good laugh about it.

Eventually the paths of the Cats and White Rabbits crossed, and the Moon grew hopeful that the Cats would remember their first and original instinct. Unfortunately for the Moon, all the White Rabbits’ hopping only bored the Cats.

“They bounce far too high, and it’s not worth it!” the Cats would exclaim, and then they would go about their business.

Angered by this, the Moon turned to its dark side. From the shadows, they sent down something else to take care of the White Rabbits as well as the Cats. The Hare came down as a dark and ominous figure, moving through the shadows undetected and almost completely invisible. It taunted the Cats, keeping them anxious and fidgety. He often bothered them so harshly that during the night, the Cats would panic and race around without provocation.

The Hare also went to the White Rabbits and told them horrible stories about the Cats. He filled the White Rabbits with even greater fear than they had felt before. The White Rabbits grew terrified of what could happen to them and what the Cats would do while they were trying to bounce back into the sky.

“I say we build a fortress!” one White Rabbit announced. “We’ll make a castle so that we can remain safe! We can forge a kingdom and build high walls to keep out anyone who wishes us harm.”

“Then we shall need a ruler!” another White Rabbit declared. “Someone who can take care of us and lead us!”

The White Rabbits soon gave up on returning to the sky, and focused on keeping themselves safe. The paranoia that the Hare filled them with kept their minds busy, and while they constructed their kingdom, the Cats looked on in curiosity.

The Hare returned to the Cats and began to fill them with the same stories he told the White Rabbits. He said the White Rabbits were planning for war, and building walls around themselves to hide the fact they were amassing weapons and armies to hunt down and kill their enemies.

“We should not trust the words of this stranger,” one Cat tried to reason with a smile. “He has done nothing but terrify us with shadows and made us run in panic during the night. We should go to the White Rabbits and offer them peace!”

The other Cats considered this, but the Hare had too strong a hold on them. They cast out their smiling friend, who went out into the world to try and stop the Hare from spreading his frowns by replacing them with a smile.

Meanwhile, the White Rabbits continued to build their kingdom, and the Cats started plotting against them. The Cats built their own fortresses and kingdom, and appointed the most beautiful of them all to become Queen. The White Rabbits had also selected for themselves a King, who could jump the highest out of all of them.

When the kingdoms were established and the walls were erected, the Cats and the White Rabbits waited for each other to make the first move. Had it been chess, they would have been at a stalemate, unable to move unless war should break out.

Years came to pass, and the Cats and White Rabbits grew in numbers. The White Rabbits forgot they had been stars, and the Cats continued to ignore the Moon. The Smiling Cat and the Hare also continued on, multiplying and creating their own ranks. The Hares hid in shadows, and the Smiling Cats became Cheshires and listened to the Sun.

All fairy tales, of course. Stories for children, embedded with lessons to learn. The Cats and White Rabbits are often feuding, but that is because of territory disputes, not because of some ancient paranoia.

I was hired by King Ludovico at the behest of his husband, a Cheshire, to oversee negotiations between the Cats and White Rabbits. Queen Oseye of the Cats and King Ilosovic of the White Rabbits had been feuding worse than ever before. Queen Oseye, incensed by the fact that Miror now had a Cat upon the throne (Cheshire or otherwise) had taken a firmer stance on reclaiming the territory she thought belonged to her.

Refusing to be intimidated by the fact that a Cat was King, Ilosovic had begun to strengthen his numbers. He believed that, because of the new King, the territory was properly the Rabbits, as now Cats would be favored by the royal family and given much more than the White Rabbits.

This is where I came in. I had been trained by the Queen Mother Primrose in negotiation and conflict resolution, and I had been working for the royal family of Miror for a long time. I had even settled the dispute between Maestro Fortescu and his fathers-in-law to a point where they could be in the same room without King Father Rosso throwing things at him.

Kings Ludovico and Lewis have enabled me to begin negotiations between the two kingdoms, allowing me certain liberties in order to have the centuries old conflict settled. I have been given a crew of Card Knights as well as a White Rabbit and Cat assistant. I had talked to Maestro Fortescu, who happens to be a Hare, on insight into the Rabbits, just as Lewis has informed me on the Cats.

To keep things even, the Kings have set up a neutral territory between the two kingdoms. It is an old summer home for the royal family, and a place much beloved by Princess Genevieve. The Kings gave it to me to use so that Queen Oseye and King Ilosovic would be on equal footing, and we can stay there for as long as needed.

Queen Oseye arrives first, bringing with her two of her knights. She is beautiful and regal with a tall, slim frame, dressed in a form-fitting white gown with a massive golden collar encrusted with sapphires. Her fur is nearly all white, and the color of burnt sugar on her ears, tail, paws, and the center of her face. Her wide blue eyes are haunting as she looks down at me. She stands taller than her guards, and I do not doubt she could filet me better than they could.

“It’s wonderful to have you here, Queen Oseye.” I say, giving her a graceful bow. “My name is Bing.”

Oseye tilts her head. “I know who you are. I was told by Lewis you would be the one to help me.”

I swallow the nervous lump in my throat. “Well, yes, of course. I’m here to help, but I am here to assist both you and Ilosovic equally.”

Her eyes narrow on me. “Shouldn’t you show loyalty to your King’s people?”

“I will,” I answer. “But I am supposed to be unbiased in these negotiations, Your Majesty. Lewis asked me to take care of you but I am also to remain fair.”

Oseye seems to have ignored everything that I have said, and is whispering to her Black Knight. She glances back at me and her hands come to rest on her slender hips. “Where is my room?”

I motion to my Cat assistant, a tiny white Persian. “She will show you to your room,” I reply.

“I want to be alerted when Ilosovic has arrived,” she snaps. “Tell me straight away or I will be greatly agitated.” She nods to her Knights, who begin marching the grounds. Then she follows the Persian towards her quarters.

I take out my journal and begin to scribble down my notes. “Intimidating. Posturing, but perhaps a bit self conscious.” I close my journal with a sigh after jotting down my observations.

Once I see Ilosovic’s carriage approaching, I send word to Oseye as soon as possible, just as she has asked. I rush out to greet Ilosovic, who is much more approachable than Queen Oseye was. Ilosovic is short and plump. His fur is extremely white, and he wears a simple suit compared to Oseye’s lovely gown and jewelry. Ilosovic didn’t even bring any knights along with him - merely his pet piglet, Yummy.

“So good to meet you at last, Ms. Bing!” Ilosovic happily shakes my hand with both his paws. His fur is so luxuriously soft, I become jealous. “It is all right if I call you that, yes? Nothing else you prefer, or something you despise?” He speaks excitedly and brightly.

“Ms. Bing is just fine,” I say warmly. “But, Your Majesty, where are your knights? Your guards?”

He laughs. “Oh, I figured I would be safe without them, you know? After all, if anything happened to me, it would be on her head, right?” He chuckles. “I thought to myself, I’d be safer here than anywhere else in Miror! What’s the point of dragging two of my knights away from home and family when I could rely on logic to keep me safe?”

I nod slowly. “I see.” His thoughts are actually quite sound. He knew Oseye would bring her knights, so if any harm should befall him, all blame would rest with Oseye and his kingdom would be assured favor. Very smart.

“I see the Queen has made it here first. Afraid I’m always late!” Ilosovic chortles with a wink. “Has she made herself at home already?”

“For now, although she advised me to alert her as soon as you arrived,” I explain to him. “So she may be waiting on you.”

“You can be assured of that!” Ilosovic laughs. “Always likes to be alert, that one.”

“Would you like to be shown to your room?” I offer.

Ilosovic just smiles. “Better wait until she finds me. Don’t want to be giving her a chase or anything. Want to start off this wonderful break on good footing.”

I frown and tilt my head. “This is not a break, Your Majesty. This is a…”

“Please, call me Ilosovic,” he laughs.

I sigh. “Ilosovic, this is not a break or vacation of any kind. This is all going to be very hard work if we’re ever going to find some sort of footing between the two of you.”

“I doubt that will happen,” he says with an oddly cheery smile. His tall ears twitch, and he turns to the side. “Seems like she’s found me.”

Oseye comes around the corner of the hall and glares down at Ilosovic. “There you are, you fluffy bastard,” she snarls. “About time you showed up! You think after all these years, you would figure out how to show up on time.” She crosses her long arms tight against her chest.

Turning towards her, Ilosovic makes a weak bow. “Oseye, as beautiful as ever. You know those eyes of yours are still the most beautiful jewels I have ever laid my eyes on.”

Oseye’s lip curls. “I see you’re still as bucktoothed as a mule.”

“Why thank you!” Ilosovic taps his front two teeth. “I’ve been taking very good care of these.”

Oseye bristles and stomps her foot, looking to me. “You hear how he speaks to me?” she huffs.

I am unsure what she is hearing, as Ilosovic appears to be trying to keep the peace between them. “Perhaps the two of you should go to your own quarters and rest for the time being,” I offer. “You can relax, have a tea, and we can join together for supper later tonight and discuss what we hope to achieve while we are here.”

Oseye sniffs at me. “I do not need rest.” She moves into the parlor and takes a seat before the fireplace. “Why don’t we go ahead and get the teeth-pulling over with? We can discuss it all right here!”

“I agree,” Ilosovic laughs as he also takes a seat. “No sense in dawdling while we are both here. Let us get a good, early start, so dinner can be a pleasant experience.”

Oseye sneers at him from across the coffee table. “Don’t try to make this sound like it was your idea.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Ilosovic holds Yummy in his lap and rubs behind her ears. “It’s been a long time since we’ve shared a room together, hasn’t it, Oseye?”

Oseye rolls her eyes, then looks at me. “Well? Aren’t you supposed to be leading this cursed little parley?”

“Of course,” I say. All the while I have been scribbling down notes in my journal. “First, I want to hear what your hopes are for these discussions.”

“You know what they are!” Oseye extends her arms out. “I want what is rightfully mine! The Treacle Waters, Fieldmouse Plains, and the Underland Meadow are all former properties of the Cats!”

“Now, now, my dear,” Ilosovic tuts. “That is not what Ms. Bing is asking. Of course we all know that is what we both want, but we must have reasonable expectations as well. I am willing to give up the Treacle Waters to you if…”

“The Treacle Waters?” Oseye balks. “That is what you offer to make me happy?”

Ilosovic gets a serious look on his face, and his tall ears twitch. “You know the Underland Meadow is important to us, and I would be foolish to so readily hand over the Fieldmouse Plains. I do not mind giving the Treacle Waters and their Wells to you.”

“Of course you don’t! They’re garbage!” Oseye seems ready to chuck a throw pillow at him.

“That is what I am willing to offer.” Ilosovic says with a sniff.

“Offer me Fieldmouse Plains, and then perhaps we could talk!” Oseye laughs with a shake of her head. “You think you’re so high and mighty because you’re kind?” She jabs a gold-capped claw at him. “You push and you shove more than I do!”

“I do not need to do either of those things when I am firm where I am standing. You merely push me and fall on your ass.” Ilosovic seems so smug with himself.

“Enough!” I stomp my foot. “Both of you, my gods! You’re acting like children, not leaders! I am shocked at your behavior. This is not dignified!” I look between them. “It is obvious the only intentions the two of you have here is to insult and belittle one another!” I shake my head in dismay.

“I’m afraid that I cannot allow these talks to continue until the both of you are willing to be civil with one another.” I snap my fingers, and the Card Knights come into the parlor. “Until then, both of you will be confined to your rooms and I will talk with you individually.”

Ilosovic jumps to his feet. “You can’t be serious, Ms. Bing!”

“This will not be a punishment, but merely a lesson. If your intentions here were to negotiate and find peace, you will do just that. If all you wanted was to come here and fight, then nothing will be done.” I nod to the Cards, who escort Oseye and Ilosovic to their rooms.

Over the course of the next few days, I talk to Ilosovic and Oseye alone in their quarters. Away from Ilosovic, Oseye appears more civil, even a bit shy, as she has no worthy combatant near her. This makes me further believe that Oseye may have issues with self-esteem, and that reclaiming the territories will make up for other losses in her life.

Ilosovic returns to a jovial and joking nature when Oseye is not in the room. His manner does not give way to passive-aggression or underhanded jibes. This leads me to believe the Ilosovic uses his smile to hide, and perhaps has some underlying aggression against Oseye beyond their usual disputes.

There is a tension they are both trying to mask, and the more I talk to them the more I realize it is causing most of their anger towards one another. In order for me to get to negotiations, I may have to figure out what that anger is.

One evening I cannot sleep, and I rise from bed to wander about. I go to the kitchen to fetch myself a soothing tea, then I walk about the halls, studying the artwork in the moonlight. I come across one of the Cards dozing in the hallway. He’s leaned against one of the statues, snoring away quite contentedly.

This Card was supposed to be watching the corridor to make sure neither Ilosovic or Oseye left their rooms, since they were across the hall from one another. I sigh and shake my head, leaving the Card to slumber at his leisure. I go to Ilosovic’s door, and with no surprise I find that he is not in his room.

I look across the way, seeing that Oseye’s door is open a crack. It feels impossible that Ilosovic would go there on his own and then Oseye would willingly let him come in. Regardless, I need to check, for if Ilosovic isn’t there, I will have to search the grounds for him.

Before I even reach Oseye’s door, I hear voices. They are short of breath and grunting with effort. I listen closer for a moment, hearing a bed squeak and hit the wall.

“No,” I chuckle to myself and cup my hand around my mouth.“No! It couldn’t be.” I listen again, hearing Oseye moan.

“It’s been far too long!” Oseye whines. “Don’t stop!”

“Why the fuck would I stop?” Ilosovic sounds strangely gruff. “I’m not letting you rest at all tonight.”

Oseye cries out. “Right there! Yes! You found it!”

“I knew where it was,” Ilosovic moans. “I just wanted to keep hearing you mewl so pathetically.”

“Please! Please don’t tease me!” Oseye whimpers. “Go harder! Harder!”

“Pathetic,” Ilosovic chuckles. “Keep talking.”

I finally peek inside and I see Ilosovic’s back and between Oseye’s legs. Oseye is on her stomach on the bed, and both are naked.

I step back and fall deep into thought. So the tension was sexual! That makes sense, although it would have been the last thing I would have thought of. In any case, it explained almost everything to the letter.

I let myself in, walking up to them until they notice me. Once they do, the room erupts into screaming and shouting.

“No, no, keep going,” I say calmly. “If this is what you two need in order to be civil with one another, then by all means have at it.”

Oseye is sitting up now, and has clutched the blankets to her naked form. Ilosovic is standing away, uncovered, and his cock is still hard. They remain silent and confused, unable to speak as they have no excuses to offer.

“How long has this been going on?” I ask as I take a seat. “Is it new, or have you two been having an affair for ages?”

Oseye casts her eyes down. “Well, we…” She looks towards Ilosovic, then back down.

“Ages,” Ilosovic huffs.

I nod and wish I had my journal with me. “Then by all means, as I said, keep going. Finish the job.”

“Not with you here!” Ilosovic snaps.

Oseye’s ears perk up. “Well…” she murmurs. “Maybe she should be here.”

Ilosovic shoots her a cross look.

“Don’t look at me that way!” she hisses at him, her ears going flat against the back of her head. “Your cock is still hard.”

Ilosovic turns and looks at me. “You seem awfully nonplussed by this discovery,” he growls. “Do you plan to use this against us?”

I shake my head. “Not at all. In fact, I’m planning to use it to help you. I have been trying so hard to find a way to connect with you. I think I have found the way to do it.”

Ilosovic glances nervously to Oseye. “You want to watch?”

I shrug. “I can join in as well,” I reply. “Whatever makes the two of you comfortable.”

“I told you she was weird,” Ilosovic scoffs.

“Well, if you’re done for the moment, perhaps you could fill me in on how all of this started.” I give them a smile. “Start from the beginning.”

Oseye fidgets uncomfortably. “I can’t think straight right now.”

Ilosovic growls. “She’s useless until she gets her way.” He grabs her and pulls her to the edge of the bed again. I watch as he slides inside her, and Oseye looks pleased as punch.

“That’s all you want,” he snarls as he moves his hips. He starts to grin. “She likes it when I’m mean to her. Don’t you?”

Oseye purrs and stretches out on the bed as he drives into her. “Harder!”

I really wish I had my journal with me. Then I could focus on writing what I see rather than wanting it.

“So, you like handing control over to Ilosovic when you copulate?” I ask, trying to keep my mind on task.

“She does,” Ilosovic chuckles. “It’s the only time she lets me get the upper hand.” He grabs her tail and pulls, making her cry out in pleasure. “Once she’s done, I’ll show you, if you like.”

I shrug. “Maybe. But right now, let’s focus on Oseye.”

He chuckles. “As you wish, Ms. Bing.”
