“Don’t mention that,” you coax her. “I never liked the stuff until you came around. Now I feel basic.”
Sig kisses your fingertip. “I think it’s cute.” She watches you as you take your first sip of the cinnamon tea. “How is it.”
“It’s like drinking one of the Red Hots candies,” you smack your lips. “It’s pretty good,” you shrug and go back to the pile of books you were working on. It was a delivery from an auction you had won where someone had raided an abandoned library. So far it was a handful of old ‘Little House on the Prairie’ books, and a few old dictionaries. You then pull out one book that is bright red with silver embossing. You dust off the cover, seeing the lettering looks like a form of runes you’ve not seen in ages.
“Something smells,” Sig stops packaging orders and her nose crinkles. She looks towards you then grimaces as you open the book up. “What is that?”
“Not sure.” You come closer to her.
Sig taps her fingers over her nose. “That things smells weird! Are you not smelling that?” She scoffs.
