Monthly Update+Raffle Winners February 2025
Added 2025-02-01 14:20:28 +0000 UTCA new month comes new things, so let's talk updates briefly before talking about the Raffle Winners.
First is to re-iterate the DIscord server since I've been fairly consistent with posting daily updates there for a Dehya and Lumine animation. I usually work between 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST and occasionally live stream any progress in the server.
Now as I haven't posted anything on Patreon about the animation prior it goes without say that I've been struggling with it. Part of that was because I had caught the Flue Type A and was completely bedridden for nearly a week which put a huge delay on my work. This delay is creating a backlog of requests that I have failed to fulfill in a timely manner.
With the backlog that I'm looking at I've come to realize that I have been failing to meet my own expectations, so I'm going to put a pause on the Raffle starting next month until I've completed every single request.
After that I'm going to try and re-evaluate the things I can realistically promise. 60s of animation is just too much to handle with my general inexperience, so I have to make compromises on that. I can either lower my standards of quality and focus on the quantity or I have to lower the amount of animation promised to focus on quality.
When I first started I had a goal to make something every single day, and I met that goal. That's why I used to post sets of 4 renders on Twitter every week. Quantity was so much more important to me than quality because I felt that the only way to get better was to just make something, even if it might be bad. I'm not sure I should go back to that.
I feel as though I am obligated to try and make the best I can for the people that request me to make stuff for them. I don't want to set a hard deadline and just drop the pen the second the clock hits 12, but it almost feels like I might have to do that.
