Oh right, forgot to actually write about this.
My read of Jax is that he believes he was the cause of Ribbit's abstraction. I'm thinking something like Vex'ahlia's thing of "my love kills", but a bit different. I think he blames himself, and is afraid of anyone getting too close to him in fear of him getting attached to someone just for them to abstract because of him. As soon as he realized him and Pomni were becoming closer, he immediately started pushing her away HARD.
He tried his absolute best to be the worst person in that moment. He gaslit, lied, and became obnoxious and overly aggressive, yet when it came to actually harming her (fighting back), he couldn't. He ends it with "There's nothing more to me, so please... stop looking," which I saw as him being frustrated and exhausted, and desperately asking for her to stop.
I think he's had several panic attacks before, it would explain why he's always trying his best to avoid his emotions and any topic that reminds him of his friend, since that could trigger him. And all Pomni was doing was triggering him, resulting in his giving up that argument and having that panic attack afterward.

You can't show us your own Highland cow and not give us a name. Hamish getting a sister/brother is a development in the reaction scene that is much more than welcome.
What is the little buddy's name?
Edit: Spoke too soon. Moof is great. Now no more need for Hamish to twerk!

Jax is so vastly misunderstood, by a confoundingly large portion of the fanbase.

The neighbors, during all the yelling and screaming: "Ma'! The sapphics are bein' loud again!"
Kinger could have been on the dev team - possibly on QA. They playtest the game, have access to cheat codes, and find bugs. Him being better in the dark could be a simple joke that he prefers dark mode themes for his IDE.
My family learned the term "neuropspicy" from my older sister's partner as a more fun alternative to "neurodivergeant". And everyone in my family has a full spice rack.
Obviously, the trio were re-enacting their favorite cat videos...

Kinger mentioned that Gangle and Jax are the youngest - and Jax reads like an angry edge lord who is trying to mask with "humor" and compensate with hyper masculine behavior. And I could read into the "...egg that needs to be cracked open..." comment since those are two key words for the trans experience. And he really, *REALLY* didn't like being put in the maid's outfit. Maybe I am reading too far into things - if we're going on the theory that this is a VR therapy game gone wrong, it would be interesting for Jax to be what he appears to be - an angry boy, keeping the world at arm's length because if you hurt people first, they can't hurt you. A chance to discuss the dumpster fire in the middle of a barren desert that is men's mental health.
No, I don't see the worst parts of my younger myself in Jax, why do you ask?
