Hello researchers!

It is quite late over here for me now.
Sleep is super important for everyone, so you all sleep tight, okay?
I stayed up until four AM during a couple of days of the three day weekend, and it was not so pleasant the next day haha.

I have been drawing a few doodles these days, but today is not about those.
Today’s post is a random report, those doodles can wait.

The topic I have today is about the doujinshi I sold at winter Comiket last year.
To be exact, about its digital version.
I am currently working on the English translation and also doing minor revisions.
It is quite embarrassing to find a couple of typos after the comic is printed, let me tell you.
I am human after all, so it happens (I tell myself this every time).

So the cover page is like this.

Yes, I ended up using the same title I can up with before.
I could not think of anything much better, so here it is.
Quite difficult to keep the same nuance when translating from another language.
Localization is not just translating, it is more adjusting I feel.
Every country and language has its own features and traits, so it is pretty important to keep that in mind when translating whatever.
Not that I am like a grandmaster at it or anything, haha!
I do my research and do my best, and I am hoping it has worked 🙃

Anyway, here are a few pages in English.

See? English! (Well, obviously.)
It does take some effort to put in the English text where the vertical writing of Japanese was present.
It really amazes me that those professional comic artists think of this when they come up with the pages.
Japanese manga are read from right to left, and with English being left to right, the panels could be a little confusing.
It would be nice to be able to rearrange the panels so they work left to right, but...that gets quite tiring, haha 😅

Putting that all aside, I am practically done with the English translation, so I will be moving to registering the comic on DLsite soon.
They seem to have to check it for a few days before the product is revealed, so I will let you all know once this is ready and opened.

I still aim to publish the comic within the month of January, but if some undesired trouble comes up and I need to push back the date, I will share that as well.
I am moving at a pace so that does not happen, so who knows how systems and machines will act up then...
Not letting my guard down.

Ah... A bit off topic ,yes, but I suppose I will add, I have resumed Pixiv requests.
I think I had that closed for like three years now, but I decided to pick it up again.
The setting for notifying everyone when I resume requests seems to be off, so I am sharing this with you all here.
Please excuse me for that.

*It seems like for some regions, R18 content cannot be requested, so...
I guess either Skeb, or something for "all ages" would work.
...Probably.

I plan to accept and work on what I can, so do contact me if you are interested.
For now, I will continue to work on the pile of tasks currently in front of me haha.

だいぶもう夜遅くなっていますね。
睡眠は大事なので皆様ちゃんと寝てくださいな。
（三連休中に午前四時まで置きてて普通に後悔しましたわ）

なんか最近落書きを何枚か描いていますが、
そちらは置いておいて活動報告と行こうと思います。
落書き投稿はまた別途お出ししますね。

今日は去年の冬コミで頒布した同人のデジタル版についての共有です。
まあとは言いつつ、日本語版は既に完成しているので、
基本的には英訳と微調整を行っているところです。
いやー、頒布した後に誤字とか見つけた時の恥ずかしさったらないですよ。
まあよくあることではありますが…
人間ですからね、仕方がありません（自己暗示

一応英語の表紙はこんな感じです

やっぱり日本語と同じにはどうしてもならないものです。
ローカライズはただの翻訳ではないですかね。
その言語圏の方々に「同じように」感じてもらいたくても、
直訳では伝わらない、違和感があるとかありますから。
とは言いつつ自分のがしっかりしてるかは断言できませんけどね（笑）
研究と努力はしていますのでお許しを。

せっかくなので本文の様子もお見せしますね。

英語ですねぇ（当たり前
縦書きの日本語に合わせて描いたコマを横書きの英語を入れるのは少し苦労しますね。
これを普段から意識してコマ割りとか考えているプロの方々には脱帽ですよ。
何より日本語の漫画は右から左に読みますが、
英語はどうしても左から右が自然ですからね。
さすがにそれを考慮して全部再配置は難しかったです。
やったこともありますが、いやぁ…なんかうまくいかなかったですね。
悔しいです。

とりあえず、英語はほぼ完成しているので、
そろそろDLsiteへの登録ができそうです。
予告作品の審査に数日かかるとのことですので、
そちらが終わって予告作品登録できましたらまた共有しますね。

発売時期は変わらず今月中、1月中を目指していますが、
もし何かしらの原因で次月に飛びそうとかありましたらそちらも告知します。
まあそうならないように自分は動きますけど、
システムや機材のトラブルって気まぐれですからね…
油断禁物ですよ。

…そういえば、少し話がズレてしまいますけど、
もう一つ共有しておきますと、Pixivリクエストを再開しました。
もう三年くらい閉じていましたが、これを機に複数のプランを考えて設定しました。
多分、自分再開時に通知を送信する設定みたいなものをつけ忘れてたかもなので、
すみませんがこちらでの告知をさせて頂きました。
