Hedylogos’ eyes narrow. “What are you talking about?” She asks, her sweet tone gone for a moment. “Pothos, did something happen?”
“You’re an aunt, Hedy,” Pothos sneers. “Eros went and made a child. Part of while I want to figure out where all of us are.”
Hedylogos bounces and claps her hands together. “Oh he had a baby! I do so hope it is a girl.”
“Of course you do!” Pothos barks angrily. “We aren’t supposed to able to have children! Or do you not remember what our father did to us?”
Hedylogos scowls and snaps her hands to her waist. “I will call Pan my father when he shows himself capable of being one. Which to be honest, given all our half siblings that are out there, it will be never. I suggest you do that same.”
Pothos sneers. “That’s not the point, dear sister!”
“I know,” she sighs. “The point is I need to visit my new niece eventually. I’ll have to bring her a gift,” she says thoughtfully.
“We aren’t supposed to be able to have children!” Pothos snaps. “Something has changed in us, dear sister. Something isn’t right.”
“Perhaps Pan is dead,” Hedylogos says without a hint of care in her voice. “Maybe we’re all free from him for good. And if he is I want to know where he is buried so I can find dogs to shit on it.”
Pothos sighs. “I’m warning you, my dear sister,” he growls then turns and points at you. “And you as well, young lady. Do not tempt fate. Do not try what our brother has. Who knows what this child could mean.”
“Miracles aren’t always supposed to be understood in the moment, darling Pothos,” Hedylogos replies and takes her brother’s hand. “That is what Mother always taught us.”
Pothos squeezes her hand. “You look too much like her. You and Eros always did.”
Hedylogos grins and touches his cheek. “You are handsome too, my brother. You’ll find someone who sees it one day.” She then laughs and turns to look at you. “You have ruined my morning.” She turns back to her brother. “I had special plans you know. Is there any other time we could chat, dear Pothos?”
