Here’s a memory from years ago that quietly shaped how I view erotic photography.
Around seven years ago, while working briefly in the adult industry, there was a chance encounter with Japanese AV actress Mao Hamasaki during a shoot.
She spoke some Chinese and, after hearing about my passion for nude photography, kindly gifted me a photo book she made with a Korean photographer.
“Maybe you’ll learn something from this,” she said.
That book stayed with me.
It showed how erotic imagery uses suggestion, tension, and detail to create a mood.
Loose clothing, carefully chosen angles, and intense expressions all worked together to build a sense of mystery and desire.
Her body at the time was softer, but she knew how to move and pose in ways that highlighted her form beautifully. It was the first time I truly saw how the body and camera could work together intentionally, not passively.
That book became a kind of starting point.
I’ve selected a few favorite pages to share here — a small but meaningful part of my journey.
