Fishman Boyfriend Levi 4 (complete)

You wake up and find Levi isn’t in bed. Sitting up you sigh with relief, it has been one of the first solid nights of sleep you’ve had. Getting up, you tiptoe into the bathroom where the baby sleep. As you come up to the bathtub, you find Levi curled up, asleep with baby Maris in his arms.

You smile, sitting on the edge of the tub as you watch them both sleep. Small, slow bubbles rise and pop at the surface of the water. Little Maris looks like his father, although his colors are paler in comparison. He’s more glossy than his father and also has a tale. He’s also very chubby.

Almost sensing you, Maris starts to stir. His tail swishes and he begins to fuss. Levi wakes up to tend to him, lifting the small baby from the water.

“You’re awake,” he murmurs, greeting you with a damp kiss. He wraps Maris up in a towel and passes him over to you.

“And for once I don’t mind,” you smile at Levi. “Thank you.”

“He was fussing so much,” Levi murmurs, stroking Maris’ chubby cheek. “What else could I do but crawl in with him?”

You chuckle and bounce Maris in your arms. “I just wish I had a camera,” you say as you walk back into the bedroom. Maris burbles and coos, clinging to you as you sit down on the bed.

Pregnancy had been strange, you suffered extreme hunger for the first few months and then strange cravings the rest of the pregnancy. It wasn’t just you experiencing these strange pregnancy symptoms. Levi, too, had been going through stages as the pregnancy progressed. He did the nesting phase, he went into extreme hunting for a while, but that helped with your odd cravings. He was this panicked and on high alert for the last two months of the pregnancy.

Things were calming down now and starting to get into a place you’d consider normal. You lean back, opening up your robe so Maris can have his breakfast. His little webbed hands press down on your breast and he grunts while he eats.

“Do you want anything?” Levi asks.

You’re staring down at Maris, watching how his skin shimmers. “I am a little hungry,” you look up at him. “Surprise me?”

Levi smile and kisses your forehead before going to the kitchen.

Your grandfather has been staying at his home in the small town nearby. During Maris’ birth, a massive storm had hit, so he left to go help the town as well as let you and Levi be alone with your new family. You missed him, but you were glad he wasn’t around for all the screaming and crying.

You’re nearly asleep feeding Maris until Levi comes into the room. “Here,” he sits down on the bed, handing you a warm cup of tea and a bowl of fresh fruit.

“Thanks,” you sigh, taking a sip of the tea before Maris unlatches.

Maris grunts and wiggles so Levi takes him for burping.

“How about I take him for his swim?” Levi suggests. “You can continue to get some rest and take that bath you’ve been daydreaming about?”

Ever since Maris was born, you’ve been using the bathtub as his bed, so you’ve had to take quick showers in the small bathroom.

You beam at Levi. “What about you? Don’t you need to rest?”

“Not as much as you do,” he murmurs. Levi kisses your cheek. “I don’t mind, you’ve earned it.”

You sigh and slump back in bed. “Thank you. I’ll make it up to you tonight.”

Levi chuckles. “Just how do you plan on doing that, love?”

    “The old-fashioned way,” you purr.

Levi smiles at Maris. “If you’re lucky, you’ll have a baby sister by the end of the year.”

“I’ll bake you a cake,” you quickly throw out as Levi chuckles.

After gathering a few things, Levi takes Maris out for his daily swim. They usually don’t go far, but Maris spends as much time in the open water as he possibly can. You clean out the bathtub, filling it with hot water and some bath salts you sink into it.

You can barely remember your showers, let alone the last time you actually sat down for a bath. You relax, closing your eyes as you enjoy the peace and quiet that Levi has blessed you with.

As you’re soaking, you hear the front door open and close. “Levi?” Your grandfather calls out. “Where are you two?”

“Bathroom!” You grunt and get out of the tub, wrapping yourself up in a robe.

You walk out and meeting your grandfather who looks to be in a tizzy. “What’s going on? You look wired!”

Your grandfather grins, grabbing your arms. “I have a surprise for Levi! Where is he?”

“He’s out swimming with baby Maris,” you reply. “What’s up? What did you find?”

“During the storm a friend of mine, Dr. Mathis, he found something washed up on shore,” he replies. “You remember him right?”

“Yeah, we grew up together,” you chuckle. “What did Leo find?”

“He said he thought it was some sort of new animal,” he says. “I got to meet her.”

    You furrow your brow. “Her?”

“Kya,” you grandfather says, still speaking in clipped excited sentences.

“Grandpa, calm down,” you tell him. “What is it? Who is Kya?”

“She’s the same as Levi!” You grandfather blurts with tears in his eyes. “Levi isn’t alone in this world!”

For a moment you’re happy, but then as the information sinks in your start to feel strange. If this Kya is of Levi’s kind, wouldn’t it make more sense they were together? Wouldn’t it be better for everyone that way?

“She’s coming over with Leo,” your grandfather says. “I wanted to surprise Levi. This is so exciting!”

“Yeah,” you murmur unsurely. “It is.”

You get dressed, still feeling dread on your shoulders. You then go to the tank, seeing Maris and Levi playing in the distance. You feel silly, but you also realize, if Kya and Levi are the last of their kind, they may need each other more than you need Levi.

Maris and Levi come to the glass, and Maris grins brightly as he touches his webbed hands to the glass. You press your palms where his are then watch them rise to the surface.

“Did you enjoy your alone time, Mama?” Levi calls down.

Maris squeaks and grunts as Levi lifts him up out the water.

    “I did,” you fib gently.

Maris squirms into your arms as Levi steps off the stairs. Levi kisses you, capturing your chin so he can linger.

“What's up?” He asks. “You look strange.”

You sigh and look down at Maris. “Grandpa is here,” you tell him. “He says he has a surprise for you,” you say this unsurely, looking down at Maris, afraid to meet Levi’s eye.

Levi narrows his eyes. “He does? Like what?” He tilts his head to the side.

You hear the door open and your grandfather greeting Kya and Leo. “You’ll see,” you murmur as you turn to watch as Kya enters the room. You stand beside Levi, but you feel distant from him.

Kya strips away the coat she’s wearing, revealing her body is more purple than Levi’s. She also possesses a tail similar to Maris’. Her eyes are wide and deep violet, very much like Levi’s. She has less frills than Levi, her head smooth save for the petal-like gills on the side of her head and neck. Looking at her and Levi, it is easy to see they come from the same world and your heart sinks.

Leo stands in the doorway with your grandfather, and his expression is very much like yours. He looks crestfallen and heartbroken and guilty.

Levi steps towards Kya , standing just a head taller than her. They circle around each other and Kya. Kya narrows her eyes at Levi, and she touches his face with both hands.

You look down at Maris who is trying to fit his toes into his mouth. You tell yourself it will be ok, Levi will always be there. But as Kya and Levi stare at one another, the longer it goes, the more you feel your world sink away.  And then you hear Kya scream.

“It is you!” She gasps. “I thought I had lost you for good!” She clasps him close and shakes him back and forth.

“What’s going on?” Leo speaks up, stepping into the room.

Kya is beaming, a massive grin cutting across her lovely face. “He’s my brother!” She exclaims. “My little brother!”

    “Family?” Your grandfather whispers. “Siblings?”

Kya nods excitedly. “We got separated from our mother during a hurricane,” she explains. I took care of him, but we got separated.” She clings to Levi. “I thought I had lost you for good!” She whimpers.

Levi holds her. “I was saved,” he motions to your grandfather. “He took me in a raised me as his very own. I owe him my life. And this-” he extends his hand to you. “This is my wife and your nephew.”

Kya gasps and she rushes over to you, wrapping you up in a tight hug. “This makes me so very happy,” she whispers. Maris fusses, and she pulls back to look at him.

“He’s perfect,” Kya whispers. “May I?” She holds her hands out tentatively.

You look over her expression, seeing a longing on her face and an ache of joy. You smile and nod to her. “Oh, of course,” you pass Maris off into her arms, and she holds him preciously.

    “He’s so cute,” Kya purrs.

Leo steps into the room, shaking Levi’s hand. He then turns to you. “Congratulations,” he says. “He’s a beautiful boy.”

“Like his father,” you sigh. “It’s good to see you, Leo,” you tell him. “How did you and Kya meet?”

Leo chuckles. “She washed up on shore during the storm. I took her in, and she just took over,” not much to say about that.” He looks down at you and smiles.

Leo leans down a bit. “Were you worried too?” He whispers. “That uhm...you know?” He shrugs.

You look over at Kya and Levi as Kya refused to let Maris go. “I was,” you murmur. You up at Leo and laugh. “I feel ridiculous for it now.”

Leo smiles and nods, standing back up to look at Kya. “I would have been happy to see her go with someone like her,” Leo murmurs. “But I love her, it would have hurt.”

You squeeze Leo’s hand reassuringly. “We’re silly.”

Kya scurries up to Leo with Maris. “If they can do it, we can do it?” She holds chubby Maris up to him who kicks his legs and sticks out his tongue.

Leo flinches, and a look of terror crosses his face for a the briefest moment. “What?” He gasps, trying to reclaim his footing.

“We can have a baby too!” Kya snaps, forcing Leo to take Maris into his arms. “I told you we just needed to keep trying is all!”

Leo takes Maris, holding him. A soft smile spreads across his face as he looks at Maris, who once again is trying to eat his own toes. “All we gotta do is try?” He asks with a laugh.

“That what Levi and I said too,” you explain. “We both wanted it, but we had no idea if it would even work with us. So we just tried and tired and well, tried,” you giggle.

    “See!” Kya huffs at Leo.

Levi steps forward, looking a bit jealous as he takes Maris from Leo. “If it’s meant to be, then it will happen,” he says. “You’ll have your own guppy eventually, Kya.” He then glances at you and grins.

Kya and Levi then go on a long swim together to reconnect. When they return Kya and Leo stay for dinner. They fall asleep in the guest room while your grandfather puts Maris to bed. You join Levi at the tank, taking up a bit of food with you.

“So,” you whisper to Levi as you join him at the tank. “How was it?” You ask him, offering him a bite of food.

Levi seems dazed as he chews the small bit of food. “I had vague memories,” he murmurs, “the hurricane and someone holding my hand,” he looks at you. “I never could remember where I came from or who I was.” He takes your hand and squeezes it.

“I thought I was alone in this world, the only one. Then I had Maris, and now Kya is in my life.” He smiles at you. “I am so very glad.”

You kiss him softly. “I am too.”

    “Were you worried?” Levi asks.

    “Worried about?” You trail off.

Levi chuckles and pets your cheek. “Worried that I would run away with Kya and live happily ever after in the ocean?”

    You turn away and pout.

“Oh come on now,” he grabs both your cheeks and faces you forward. “Look at me,” he whispers gently. “Nothing could take me away from you,” he rubs his thumb under your eye. “I am yours and Maris’. You’re all I want.”

“But-” you start but he places his finger over your lips.

“No buts,” he smiles. “I am meant to be with you and no one else.”

You lean in, pressing close to him and kissing him. “I love you too,” you whisper. You slip your feet into the water of the tank beside Levi. “Grandpa has Maris tonight,” you stroke your hand down Levi’s side.

“The night is ours,” you murmur.

Levi chuckles, kissing you softly. “Let’s go to bed then.

That night Levi is gentle with you, he lays you down in bed, kissing you and undressing you. He tosses your clothes aside, gazing down at you. He strokes your skin, kissing down your sore breasts and your belly. You’ve been feeling self-conscious about both, but Levi seems to pay them no mind, or at least, he pays them their due respect.

This is your first time together in months, since before Maris was born. He’s tender with his touch, making sure nothing hurts or feels strange to you. He moves slowly, and you hold on fast to him. You listen to his breathing, his moans. You shiver, feeling him so deep inside again.

“I’ll never leave your side,” Levi pants. “This is where I belong.”

You whimper and feel a few tears slip. “I’m sorry.”

Levi kisses you. “Don’t,” he whispers. “I know you love me.” He pushes deeper, starting to move faster. He groans and whispers into your ear.

    “You’re mine,” he grunts. “Always.”

You shiver, and your feet ache as he releases inside you. You gasp and cling to him, holding him fast even as his weight sinks into your body.

He then lays beside you, stroking your cheek. “How do you feel?”

You giggle. “Same as I always do,” you whisper. “I feel amazing.”

Levi kisses you. “Shall we keep trying?” He whispers.

You smile shyly. “Let's try in another few months.”

Levi grabs you and wraps you up in his strong arms where you fall asleep.

Come morning, you hear Maris fussing, so you get up to relieve your grandfather. When you return to the bedroom, Levi is waiting. He kisses Maris good morning then sits beside you as Maris has his breakfast.

“ I wonder how Kya is doing,” you murmur to him.

“Best we let them sleep,” Levi kisses you. “They probably had a much busier night than we did.”

Your cheeks burn, and you can’t help but laugh. “Ah, so she was serious about the trying.”

“Very serious,” Levi murmurs. “She’s in heat.”

You snort, and Maris fusses as your laughter disrupts his feeding.

“Poor Leo,” you whispers as you lean back.

Levi puts his arm around you, adjusting the blanket Maris is wrapped in. “Did your grandfather say how he did last night.”

“Said he slept like a rock,” you say. “You took him swimming twice yesterday, maybe we need to start doing that.”

Levi kisses your cheek and neck. “It was fun, and he loved his aunt.”

You beam, kissing him. “His aunt,” you sigh. “I’m glad he’ll have one.”

Levi kisses your cheek again. “Did you mean it?” he asks. “That in a few months...we could...well...we could keep trying?”

You look over at him and smile. “You promised Maris a little sister.”

Levi grins and butts his forehead to yours. “I did, didn’t I?”
