Proof of Life #135: Introducing the antagonists

That being said, I don't have a whole lot to say in this PoL. the development for this week has been mostly focused on progressing the story, and the first segment will be mainly dedicated to a few interactions with the characters as adults, as well as introducing the antagonists for HC3, even if only briefly. So far, for those who have played the 1st version, you have seen 3 antagonists out of 4 already, although it was impossible to guess 2 of them. The 3rd one was a bit easier.
It will stay a bit barren in term of full sex scenes for a bit, because any I could think of at the moment would be shoehorned in and feel out of place and very likely boring. Instead, I tried my best to have sexual events, big or small, all throughout the early story, until I can finally add a scene that would feel like it fits.
The first Triple Trident duel was also added into the game, with a complete tutorial with pictures and all. I want to have the Triple Trident gameplay feel a bit like a Pokémon game in terms of progression: beat enemies to progress further, and have battle with your rival once in a while. The rival is a girl with her very own sprite design and backstory, and would lead to a few NTR scenes towards the end, depending on whether you win or not. But that's pretty far ahead. (Heads up for those who haven't heard, but the TT card game can be entirely avoided)
Oh, and the 2nd sketch out of 4 for HC3's introduction text is now done. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Now looking for a voice actress to voice it as well.
Okay, that's pretty much it for this week! I'm off for another week of pure story development (hopefully, if everything works as intended^^).

mh I have a different POV, I would love to actually see Rose and the MC commit to each other, so that they actually have sexual intercourse. IMO its a much harder and deeper NTR experience when there is a strong bond between the MC and the female character which gets broken and overwritten by the corruption and godly sexual intercourse Rose will experience with the antagonist. Also I think we already experienced the same old "antagonist takes virginity" in EVERY Henteria Chronicles game with almost EVERY younger female character. So for me this time there rather is a good reason and it would make a lot of sense for the MC and Rose to actually have intercourse instead of having a similar, non-physical, distant love relationship we wittnessed in every HC game before (okay at least they are kissing this time and they are in some kind of a relationship, but IMO thats really only a very minor change). After all they are a(n inofficial) couple, they are in love and so on. And as they are kissing and meeting all the time, there will surely be moments where they can get intimate. The MC even has his own house... so I see absolutely no problem there. IMHO it rather wouldnt make sense if they didnt start beeing intimate with each other. I really would recommend to try a different NTR approach and not the same old antagonist takes vrginity formula. I want to see "real" (classic) NTR, where a real lovers bond between a couple gets broken. And not just some distant falling in love or family bond, but a real couple's/lovers bond that gets corrupted. I think HC3 gives the perfect opportunity to get some slightly new NTR approaches into the game. Whats it with the precious virginity all the time anyway? I get that its a fetish, but isnt it overextended a bit? And there is still the sister, her virginity surely can be taken by one of the antagonists and it would make much more sense (as she's also the ice queen who lets nobody near her, especially cause she fell for the MC). So while we have characters where we can still stick to the old HC1 and 2 formula (also the smaller one working in the Inn), I really urge you N_Taii to try a real couples NTR with Rose. Also as Austin Pugh said, when Rose had sexual intercourse with the MC a lot of new dominance/dirty talk and other options will arise for her NTR story. May it be cock comparisons, condom/pregnancy play (antagonist forbids Rose at one point to have raw sex with the MC...)... there are so many new options that arise, that have not been in any HC game yet. And I would love to see such elements of humiliation and dominance. Also those are elements of very classic NTR games/stories and a lot of people on other sites complained about those missing NTR pieces in the HC games... just sayin. Also this would be a great way to get early lewd scenes into the game, before the corruption arc gets steeper...

2022-07-19 12:41:31 +0000 UTCI hope the MC doesn't/didn't get Rose's virginity before the antagonist, I think it would be a bad choice in this scenario where there's a good reason they couldn't do it yet, like because of her role and having to keep their relationship hidden.

2022-07-19 09:42:59 +0000 UTCI concur with Pete in that the beginning of NTR is always the most interesting. I just hope Rose and the MC get some H-scenes as well. I've always enjoyed the comparing men kink and that could allow you to articulate a partial reason for her fall. This being that she could start by thinking, "I prefer Leto's gentle sex or size." and have her grow discontent until she's thinking, "Being with Leto is nothing like the book's describe lovers as there is no passion and so on." This would also be more realistic and organic than having her talk about how good the other guy is. And Rose could hint at her discontent to the MC allowing even players who are playing partial to get a better grasp of her fall.

2022-07-13 03:04:21 +0000 UTCHhmmm, maybe you're right on the antagonists, maybe you're not ^^ About the early voice acting, I thought about this too, but I still decided to go with it anyway for several reasons: 1. As I said in other PoL, early exposition to the world and its History is usually hard to remember for first time players, who will probably only remember bits and pieces. To really make it as easy to retain the info as possible, I want it to be stimulating not only visually, but also audibly, which is why I went with sketches, and voice acting 2. I already have CG sketches at the beginning. People might expect more CGs from the game too, so either I scrap everything to avoid disappointing anyone, or I let them figure it out and hope they understand. 3. Right after the opening text, during the first scene with the queen and the princess, there will already be no voice acting anymore, so most players probably won’t hold their expectations for long^^ 4. I want the opening sequence to make as much an impact as possible. Not only because of point (2), but I also want to convince new players I put much work and thoughts into this game, and it isn’t another RPGM game thrown developed hastily to make a quick buck. 5. I have played small to mid-budget RPG games that only had voice acting during 2-3 scenes in the whole game. While I always thought more voice acting would have been nice, I understood that because of budget restrictions and other, they did their best, and the experience was as no less enjoyable than if there had been no voice acting at all. I hope players will feel that way too. 6. If voice acting is a required condition for some players to enjoy the game, they wouldn’t have liked it either way, and adding early voice acting or not wouldn’t have made much of a difference either way.

2022-07-12 21:54:55 +0000 UTCMhh is it impossible to guess two of the antagonists because they were two members of the veiled conspirers? oO POSSIBLE SPOILER; I think the antagonist who should be easier to guess is one of the brothers, who is owning the Inn. Could that be right? :P SPOILER END I love to hear that you take your time with the corruption progress of the 4 female main and side characters. Especially the beginning is by far the most exciting part in corruption NTR games for me. And I think you found the perfect solution to still fit enough lewd scenes into the game... by adding and implementing some short NIP(not important character)-NTR stories and lewd scenes with NIPs. And slowly but surely we will get there... Personally I hope to witness a lot of groping anf other juicy scenes before the real deal is happening. Not a fan of the idea to do some voice acting for the beginning as it most certainly will never happen again in game. That IMHO just raises the expectations for new players, but will fail to be consistent and therefor disappoint in the end. I would advocate to rather spent your resources on more pixel art or sound effects... something thats more consistent and slightly and subtle adds to the whole game and experience... as always thanks for your hard work n_taii!
