Proof of Life #77: Progressing Neve's Storyline

Hello guys and gals, N_Taii here with another PoL Monday post to keep you informed!

Not many news, so I'll keep this post relatively short.

About HC2's development

I'm almost done with Neve's last quest. For those who've played HC1, you might recognize some of the equipment above, which will probably please those of you who are more into the whole BDSM and master-slave relationship fetish ; ) As for her quest, it will be a little similar to her previous quest "A Little Trip with Friends", but I won't spoil too much. The extra scene will also involve Neve.

After that, I have to develop Thania's last quest, and I can get to polishing what's left of the beginning of the game by adding new freeroam events and such, as I have done with the two previous Updates. Hopefully, I can finish it this month so I can get to developing the reminiscence room later on. We'll see : )

About HC3's development

I've started looking for another pixel artist to make new environment assets (trees, plants, house, etc...). I've said that before already, but I'm hoping that, in the long run, I can have a game that has mostly custom assets. 

I also want to have character sprites looking more like those from RPGMaker XP, slightly thinner and with a more lifelike design than the ones from RPGMaker MV, since those don't seem to be very popular with players.

Btw, if you really wanted to splurge, you could just go and have all the sprites created as you want. Kinda like something in Boy hero Ken.

I was thinking about adding dwarves and other races, should I make them giant as well?^^ I guess that would lead to a whole new array of issues ; )

Make henteria 3 about giants, problem solved.

Actually, while they might not look like it, XP sprites are shorter than MV's (43px tall for XP and 48px tall for MV). I was thinking about asking the artist to make them 50 px tall, but I can't go much taller or they'd look out of place compared to the rest of the environment. Still, I think 50 px might look detailed enough : )

I looked up RPGM XP sprites and yeah, the proportions look much more appealing for "that type" of content. If they're large and detailed enough, it could look great.

Actually, I haven't really felt bummed about that to be honest. I don't mind investing in the game, quite the contrary, especially if I know that's what people want to see. The only issue is that it might take some time before the artist can make the same amount of sprite as HC2, but it'll certainly be worth it^^

Agree that RPGMaker XP character sprites look better, though it is a shame to throw out some base sprites you already made/comissioned.
