Just thought id drop some info on the whole Cutler Beckett and davy jones past Back when Jack was younger he worked for Cutler Beckett in the East India Trading Company. Jack was given a ship called the Wicked Wench By Beckett. One day Cutler Beckett demanded Jack transport slaves, but Jack instead freed them. So Cutler Beckett hunted Jack down and burnt the ship till it sank with Jack in it. In his dying moments Jack saw Davy Jones and made a deal with him, Save Jack and raised the Wicked Wench from the ocean, and after 13 years Jack would have to serve aboard the Flying Dutchman. When the Wicked Wench was raised from the water the wood of the ship was charred and black from the fire so jack got it repainted and renamed it the Black Pearl to symbol the ships rebirth and rising from the ocean.
