What do you guys think...

I remember choose your own adventures when I was younger. I do remember the Batman comic where the readers chose to have Robin live or die and left it up to the writers to decide how he died. I think it can be said the same with EL. Would this story be canon for the Extinctioners or just a side adventure?

2016-04-28 19:03:24 +0000 UTCsounds fun and interesting, but it will depend on the options you give to those that will vote or is it more give you're opinin on what will happend?

2016-04-28 06:15:56 +0000 UTCPersonally I think it would be an interesting exercise to pursue if only to see what sort of scenario you have planned and what people would vote for.

2016-04-28 04:39:34 +0000 UTCI agree with UltraFennec. It'd be an interesting exercise, but you'd have to take care with fan responses towards more important aspects of a story. Other than that, I'd be interested in seeing a demo of what you have in mind.

2016-04-28 04:21:31 +0000 UTC"Should Robin live or shall he die? Call the number on the cover and place your vote today!" Hehe. It does sound like a pretty neat idea, especially with the right story/drama direction. I would say give it a go and see what happens. I'm willing to give it a try.

2016-04-28 03:30:44 +0000 UTCI don't mind them particularly, though as others noted, it can be pretty obvious which choice will be picked, depending on what the choice is. If there's some sort of unexpected consequence of that choice, that can be interesting, though.

2016-04-28 02:40:39 +0000 UTCOWWWWWWWWW Fennec...... I wasn't being flippant, I like to think that while my suggestions are unconventional, writing several hundred stories for different sites and having over 10,000 watcher fans....suggests not ALL my ideas are nonsensical... and can you explain away my objection so simply?
Lordgriffin
2016-04-28 02:35:41 +0000 UTCAnd by that I mean "have little or no sense of appropriate drama or action arcs."
UltraFennec
2016-04-28 02:24:51 +0000 UTCMaybe people don't try things that are unconventional because (from my personal experience with these things, anyway), the unconventional replies are usually also either completely nonsensical, or simply wrong for the story that's being told?
UltraFennec
2016-04-28 02:23:54 +0000 UTCThey're fun, but the creator must be able to filter out the nonsensical replies, as well as the ones that break storytelling propriety. Otherwise, go for it. The worst that can happen is you remove the 'choose' aspect from it and continue on with whatever you think is best instead.

2016-04-28 02:23:06 +0000 UTCYea i do have a problem expressing myself :)

2016-04-28 01:51:15 +0000 UTCWell I got this story idea that I think would be a neat way of involving the voting tier a bit more directly by giving options of how a scene could go as the story progresses, with possible consequences for the voted path.

2016-04-28 01:21:35 +0000 UTCHeh so that's a no?
Ebonyleopard
2016-04-28 01:20:45 +0000 UTCYes, more or less.

2016-04-28 01:20:06 +0000 UTChonestly could be fun depending on the details. What exactly did you have in mind?

2016-04-28 00:49:56 +0000 UTCWhat I think is ABSOLUTELY frustrating and I do not like them. I already am "odd" in what I like, and in a Choose their fate story, people choose the same things over and over and over, No one is willing to try something REALLY unconventional (and if they do the artist normally draws a line and won't do that) and it's NEVER the fate *I* woudl have chosen.... other then that it's a great idea...

2016-04-28 00:04:42 +0000 UTCWhat's that? Like voting for what happens next?
