Fall is coming, you can smell the chill in the air and the crispness that comes with it. For days it has been raining, and you’ve been stuck inside the palace. For the last few months, Persephone has been with her mother, so it’s just been you and Hades. When Persephone left, the change that came over the palace was apparent. It didn’t seem as bright without her, even her garden looked dull. Hades tried to keep in good spirits, after all, you were here now. But without Persephone, you were both missing a piece of your life.
But now, she was coming home. Despite the rain, you and Hades made your way to the gates to greet Persephone when she arrives. Hades has his arm around you, keeping you warm and snug under his cloak.
“Aren’t you cold?” You look up at him.
“I don’t even notice it,” he says.
He won’t say it, but he’s like an excited child. He’s so anxious to see Persephone and have all of you together again, he doesn’t even notice the rain pouring down on him. You snuggle close to him, putting your arm around his back.
The rain lets up, and sunlight starts to pour through from the gates. The gates open and Persephone takes her first steps back into the Underworld. She looks up and grins and rushes towards you. Hades holds his arms out and grabs her, hugging you both together in his strong embrace. Persephone giggles and kisses him all over his face. She then turns to you, caressing you lovingly and sighing.
“Being with my mother is great and all, but it’s such a bummer all day without you two.” She takes Hades’ and your hands, walking in the middle of you both as you return to the palace.
“How was the visit this time?” Hades asks.
“Same as always,” Persephone sighs. As you walk into the palace, she shrugs off her cloak, and she stretches. She takes in a deep breath and looks around. “I missed home,” she murmurs softly.
“You’re home now,” Hades replies and he bends down, meeting her kiss.
You’ve always enjoyed watching Hades and Persephone. Their love is so deep and beautiful, watching them kiss and gaze at one another was a treat in itself. It made you happy knowing they were happy.
“Come here,” Persephone giggles, waving you over. “I missed you too!”
You step forward, and she pulls you close, kissing you while Hades nuzzles to her neck. “How was he?” She asks. “I know he gets mopey when I’m not here.”
You smile. “He put up a good front,” you reply. “But we both missed you.”
“It was nice having her here,” Hades murmurs as he runs his fingers through your hair. “But we were incomplete without you.”
“I know,” Persephone smirks. She then looks at you both with a soft, longing expression. “I’m so glad to be home.”
“We are too,” you whisper. “What would you like to do today?” You ask.
She smiles and sighs. “I just want to be lazy!” She replies with exuberance. “My mother always has us working! I just want to lay in bed all day, maybe read, and just be with you two.” She takes yours and Hades’ hands and squeezes them. “Can we do that?” She mainly looks at Hades when she asks this.
“I think it’s possible,” Hades stands up. “Since it is your homecoming, I didn’t have anything planned anyway.”
Persephone giggles and leads the way to the bedroom. She tosses herself into bed and flops around in the sheets. She brings a pillow to her nose and breathes in deeply, taking in the scent of her lovers.
“My bed,” she sighs.
Hades crawled up behind her, wrapping her arm around her soft waist while you sit down beside her. She reaches for you, pulling you down into the bed and resting her head on your chest.
“I barely slept,” she sighs.
“I highly, doubt that,” Hades chuckles. “You’re the heaviest sleeper I know.”
“I mean,” Persephone scoffs as she pouts. “I slept, but it wasn’t good sleep!” She grumps. “It’s not the same without you.”
“I know love,” Hades growls, kissing Persephone’s shoulder.
“Tell me,” Persephone cuddles close to you. “What did you two do?”
You kiss the top of her head. “We kept up with your plants and garden like you asked. Nothing much different really.”
Persephone looks up at you. “You didn’t try anything special in the bedroom?”
Your cheeks burn, and Hades chuckles. “We made love,” he growls. “Quite often. We felt it made us closer to you when we did.”
Persephone purrs. “I would have liked to have seen that.” She then gasps and sits up. “Did you try to get pregnant?”
Hades chuckles. “We didn’t want to attempt that without you.” He reaches up, brushing her vines from her face. “We did discuss it though. I think we’re ready for another child.”
Persephone’s eyes grow wide, and she looks so bright and happy. “Are you?” She looks down at you, and you blush.
“It was a long conversation, but I feel deep in my heart that we should have a baby together. All three of us.”
Persephone flops back down into the bed, kissing the both of you excitedly. “I can’t wait! I had a dream while I was away,” she purrs as she snuggles back down onto the bed. “I came home, and there was a beautiful little baby. They were so soft and squishy, and their cries sounded like pure music.” She pulls up your dress and snuggles to your belly. She kisses it and smiles with pure joy.
“It’ll be strange,” Hades murmurs. “Having that noise here again.”
Persephone chuckles. “When our children were little they were so loud! Poor Cerberus must have hid for the first century or so.” Her smile is pure nostalgia. “I miss it though,” she glances back at Hades. “They’re all so grown and beautiful,” she murmurs. She then pouts and scowls. “They don’t visit me nearly enough.”
Hades chuckles. “They’re still young and moronic,” he kisses her neck. “They’ll visit when the time is right.”
She huffs and turns back to you. “Will this be your first?” She asks.
You nod. “It will be, so I’m a little nervous.”
“His babies can be rather rowdy,” Persephone motions back to Hades. “But all in all, I always enjoyed being pregnant.”
“You were beautiful pregnant,” Hades murmurs. “I always loved seeing you like that. I’m excited to see it again. I can’t wait to have that glow in the palace.”
“You old softy,” Persephone purrs as she kisses him.
Hades stretches his arm out, laying it on your belly and Persephone’s hand joins in. You giggle, feeling a bit silly. “It will be nice,” you murmur. “To add to this family of ours.”
“Won’t it?” Persephone sighs. Soon, she’s asleep, and Hades with her. You lay there, watching them curled together and sleeping peacefully. The bed feels full again. Without Persephone, it felt like the bed was empty, even with you and Hades in it. The palace was dull without her, no matter how much you and Hades tried to keep busy. Persephone was such a huge part of your lives it felt wrong without her. You soon drift to sleep with them once the rain picks back up again.
“Wake up,” you hear a soft whisper. You feel warm lips on your cheek and neck. “C’mon, wake up, love.”
You sigh and slowly open your eyes, looking at Persephone. “Where’s Hades?” You grumble.
“I sent him to go get us food.” She kisses you, and you touch her cheek. You part your lips, tasting her as she kisses you. “You looked so comfy,” she says.
“I was sleeping so good,” you rub your eyes. “It was the first time since you left.”
Persephone smiles. “I’m sorry I have to leave,” she says. “But it’s part of the deal.”
“I know,” you murmur.
She looks at her, her dark eyes glancing over your face. “I was happy though, this time, he wouldn’t be so alone,” she murmurs. “Every time I had to leave, I hated that Hades was left alone here. So, this time, it wasn’t so bad. I knew he had you, someone, he loved who would keep him company. But then I realized, I was the one who was alone.”
You kiss her softly. “We missed you like mad.”
“I missed you more,” she chuckles. “Being alone with my mom? Ugh.” She kisses you again. “It’s a relief being home.”
The door opens, and you both sit up, watching as Hades comes in carrying a tray of food. “Oh good, I don’t have to wake you.” He sets the dish down on the bed, and he joins you under the covers.
Persephone grabs at food, happily munching on pomegranate seeds and sipping on nectar. You take some bread, dipping it in olive oil. Hades watches you both, sipping on wine while you and Persephone happily feed one another.
He kisses Persephone's neck, and she moans softly. “Not while I’m eating!” She scolds him.
He chuckles. “I was having a nibble was all.”
Persephone grins back at him. “You’ll just have to wait until my lazy day is over, love.” She winks at him. “Don’t worry, another nap and another meal, and this bed will be very busy.”
You giggle. “He’s very handsy when he’s lonely.”
“Is he?” Persephone smirks. “You must have had your hands full.”
“No more than usual,” Hades replies. “I feel she’s busier when you’re around.”
Persephone laughs. “I’ve never heard you complain about it at all! So if you want to join us later, I suggest you keep quiet.”
Hades chuckles. “Why would I ever complain? I have two beautiful women who love me. I’m the happiest deity to exist.”
“You better be,” Persephone takes his wine and steals a drink. “This is strong,” she shivers.
“It’s from the last crop before you left,” he replies, taking his chalice back. “So it takes very much after you.” He hands you the cup, letting you take a long drink.
“Mm,” you sigh. “This is what she tastes like. Sweet, dark, very strong, and has a kick.” You kiss Persephone’s cheek while Hades kisses her shoulder.
“Flatterers,” Persephone relishes in the attention being laid on her. She kisses both of you, and a bright smile crosses her lips. “You two are the absolute best.”
“We love you,” Hades replies. “How could we not want to spoil you?”
Persephone sits back, feeding Hades some of the pomegranates. “Say it more,” she says softly. “I missed hearing it.”
“Love you,” you whisper to her, and she feeds you.
“I love you,” Hades purrs, and she kisses him.
“I love you too,” she says. “Both of you, from the bottom of my heart, all my love is for you.”
Hades sets the tray aside and lays his head in Persephone’s lap, snuggling to her warm, soft thighs with his arms around her waist. You dip down, kissing him and tasting the wine on his lips. Persephone runs his fingers through your hair and down your back as you kiss him.
“It’s so good to be home,” she sighs. “I do enjoy watching you two kiss.”
You giggle and sit up. “I was thinking the same thing before,” you tell her. “I love watching you and Hades.”
“I love watching you two,” Hades chimes in with a smirk.
You press close to Persephone, kissing her lovingly. You taste the wine on her as well, and you wonder if all of you have the same flavor in your mouths. You pull back and smile, cuddling back down into the bed with Hades’ arms around both of you. For now, being with them is the greatest feeling in the world. But soon, you’re excited to add to this pile. Creating an embodiment of your love and trust. You feel Persephone kiss you and her hand roam down your chest. She’s awake, and she’s ready to show her love to you both.
