Yeah the Dalton scene is just an unfortunate effect of anime adaptation. Try as they might some scenes will always look weirdly paced and timed. Like when a character can just have a monologue on a single manga panel, while the scene will always last seconds in real time in anime. Of course at times it will also just be Toei screwing up and dragging scenes on too long

2024-07-16 21:49:46 +0000 UTCI think Dalton taking the arrows was a 'pacing mistake' by the anime. In the manga he stood very close to his former comrades and the dude with the arrows was already aiming at the villagers. So Dalton was indeed fast and stepped in his way as soon as he let loose of those arrows. At least that's what I got from reading the manga 🤔😊 It did seem a bit weird considering they pointed out how strong he was 😅😆
