I haven't shared these anywhere else yet, but I had some fun today with my himi gouache set and thought I'd show you first!
Something about working on small 4x6" canvases is scratching an itch in my brain right now, lol

I think this one was my favourite of the two. Drawn almost entirely because I wanted to imply that my older royal duck i-spy painting had a little son / family.
Up next I kind of want to paint a queen / princess!
What bird do you think would make a good queen?

Here's a cute little penguin prince I painted to go with my royal Norwegian penguin portrait! This one isn't an i-spy, like its matching counter-part, but it was very enjoyable to paint nonetheless.
I'm also trying out a new little 3-part signature here that I don't normally use (bottom right).
At conventions, my artist name frequently gets mis-pronounced, so I wanted to try breaking my name apart into 'SAB TAS TIC' to help combat that.

I re-opened up my Etsy store and that's been keeping me delightfully busy, so sorry if I've been a little quiet on Patreon this month! I had my first vaccine dose last week as well! This past month has been pretty nuts. I was surprised by a call-back from my temporary layoff, (after over a year of being laid off), and I accepted the job offer. As a lot of you know, this route is not my ideal, (because it's a non-art job) but I think it's a responsible choice for now... At least until my comic conventions and artist alleys return. If you haven't heard much from me this month, that's why! x___x;; I've just been doing nearly full-time...

Remember to cancel / lower your pledge before December 1st if you're in the commission tier! It's perfectly fine to stay put for December art if you want, but I wouldn't want anyone being charged twice if they don't want to be, especially this time of year.
This month I admittedly went a little overboard with these guys. Backgrounds normally aren't a detail I should be taking the time...

If you've been keeping up with me on Twitter and/or Instagram, you've probably seen PLENTY of these little cuties by now, lol. I've been visiting the same mallard family of 12 since early June on my daily walks (noticed them the day they hatched!) and watching them grow up has really helped me cope with the huge changes brought upon by the pandemic (layoffs, cancelled conventions, a close call with my dad's health, etc) so I wanted to make myself a little memento to rem...

Starting August 1st, I'll be opening 8 commission slots as a NEW patreon reward tier. The above image is an example of what I'd be making for you. Once you pledge, you can choose 1 style for your avatar: birdblob, crow, or duckling! From there, I'd ask you for 5 items/ideas to choose from, I'd choose 1 or 2, and deliver your custom avatar at the end of August!

The crow pattern has been updated to add a few variant birds (one or two screaming, a few with darker tones, etc) The one I posted a few months ago is just flat colours, with no altered crows.
