And I was like oh yeah, that's a great point... Except it was then that I remembered, Jonathan freaking' Joestar exists π Poor guy

2024-05-15 18:08:47 +0000 UTCYeah even though they were hit and miss for me, the battles in part 3 never felt half assed. And you can make the case that almost every stand was iconic. Like the first Oingo Boingo episode, perfection. I don't know if something like that could ever be replicated on that level again.

I feel like Araki really started to get what a good stand battle was somewhere around Jotaro's fight with D'arby the Gambler and just kept improving from then on. Thinking about the stand battles in early Part 3 vs the ones here in early Part 4... it's like playing Rock'em Sock'em Robots and then suddenly being introduced to Pokemon XD
