You can't compare to PNG a format that changes the pixels of an image, adding artifacts, for the sake of compression. It's slightly better than JPEG at compressing tiny images, but for large resolutions like Tom's artwork WebP is worse than JPEG https://siipo.la/blog/is-webp-really-better-than-jpeg . But the worst part is that it's being forced on us by auto-convert, so we can't even download the original. Patreon went to the wrong way.

When I convert the file to .png format with the same dimensions (so my older computer's viewer software can view them) the file size increases: - to 1,729 KB when I use the Paint program on my Windows 11 computer - to 1,392 KB using an on-line conversion website.
