Terrible Maids

Brutus isn't a "bad" maid, its just some people pay extra for that kind of service and she can't reign it in for low payers.

IvyReed

That’s not a bad idea

Onyx Dragon 388

The manager was afraid of paperwork and we were already low on staff

Onyx Dragon 388

I’d definitely prefer to be waited on by Brutina. Any adverse outcomes would be minor, and totally unintentional. Plus, a 50% chance that everything worked right. For any unruly customers who might wander in, I’d employ Clovinia as a bouncer, disguised as a waitress. She could threaten customers for tips as part of her schtick, but not hint that food safety depended on their decision. Anybody coming in looking for trouble would find out that she’s the specialty of the house.

Rick K

Ugh I'm surprised she lasted that long.

Adamas

As I said, I never stated that it was absolutely correct. I can't swear how long ago it was supposed to have started but, I want to say that the show said it was in the middle to late 18th Century.

Glenn Sellers

True. And, now that you mention it, you're right. Like I said, it was what I saw on a TV show.

Glenn Sellers

I would have thought that should be “To *Ensure* Promptness”… (at least over here in England), but then “TEP” doesn’t roll off the tongue as well as “TIP” does…

SophieTRat-Skunk

what you saw was wrong, "to tip" meant "to give a small present of money" as far back as the early 17th century, which itself came from thieves' cant for "to give" or "to hand over"; it evolved into "to give a gratuity for service" in the early 18th century when tips shifted from something you gave your personal servants to something you gave service workers just as a rule of thumb, if someone tells you a word that was around before the 1930s came from an initialism or acronym, that's almost definitely wrong because that wasn't really a common thing that long ago; pretty much the only real exception to that is "OK"

Idran

Nora, or Templar Technologies.

Thisguy

Sounds like some of the Entitled People stories on the subReddits.

KaiserDunk

Same

Onyx Dragon 388

No he’s going to poison you if you don’t tip

Onyx Dragon 388

I bet Nora made the machine.

Onyx Dragon 388

Toxic waste water is still pretty. All colorful

Onyx Dragon 388

I used to work with someone like Clovis that would ignore a table if they wanted anything unless tip was promised. She worked there for 6 months because of a hiring problem. And from what I was told she was a spoiled brat with a rich dad. But I never confirmed.

Onyx Dragon 388

Still evil vs still lovable.

eddi_TBH

With all the gender shenanigans here, it amuses me to think that the cafe has a gender switch machine, and the guys go into work, switch to female to work, then switch back to male afterwards to go home. Thereby allowing the maid cafe to maintain a female only server staff, while also being equal opportunity. And one of the employment benefits is occasional off work usage of the machine.

Thisguy

The order! Is Brutus the kind of... gal to appreciate the help, or slap you ded for touchy? Clovis has an appeal, femme fatale Fun sketch, they are so different

Ordithus

I hope we get to see more femBrutus soon. 😍

Raventail

Well, if what I saw on a TV show is correct, TIP is the abbreviation for "To Insure Promptness". Perhaps that's what Clovis is referring to.

Glenn Sellers

I do adore your idea as well! I do wonder why Kathrin would hire someone like Clovis, but then I thought that some patrons would love a bad girl. But I got Brutus’ appeal immediately!

Rex the Raccoon

Adore this!

coredumperror

YEEEEEEES this was absolute perfection!
