That was beautiful to read, Roughlandin. I also like the look of relief from Alaric that I'm interpreting here, who wanted to believe they were a couple now, but still wasn't entirely sure of Keith's feelings, as well as strict Basitin law closeting him his entire life. Once Keith reciprocated, it's like all of that weight was lifted from his shoulders and he is content to live the life he's always wanted for himself and Keith now.

...There's such a subtle detail in the fact that it seems Keith is the one who had to move his tail to twine it with Nick's. That's an action HE had to take, consciously or not. And now, having taken that action, he's smiling. I like that. At its heart, Keith's story is one of a lonely kid looking for a friend. Despite how reserved he can be at times, you'll notice he's always happiest when he's with other people. Whether that's Nick, or Laura, or Trace and Flora, or Nat. The thing that Keith wants, more than anything in the world, is to feel like he belongs. I hope, wherever the story takes Keith, that it leaves him somewhere, and with someone, he belongs. I have shared quite a bit about how much this sketch meant to me personally. All I can say now is that sometimes, we can feel low, depressed, or even have severe doubt or suffer a crisis in identity and self worth because of trauma and internalization. However, sometimes all it can take is one very talented artist and author, as well a fanbase filled with love and support. It helps a lot and I will always be grateful for this.
