If this were the case, Keith would have encountered Laura quite a bit earlier, when the gang reached Eric's estate. This was just after Natani used the Heart's Desire on him, so he might think this is another Laura illusion, but after he gets she's real, there would definitely be hell to pay for Eric for buying his fiancée.
After that, I could see it going one of two ways. Laura might try to persuade Keith to continue on to the island and complete his journey anyway. In which case, things happen as usual, except Laura would be on the ship, and I suspect when Alabaster starts pushing for Keith to kill Natani (and Laura, maybe, in this timeline) Keith would likely just go, you know what, forget this, let's get out of here.
The other way would be Keith straight up saying he doesn't need the island once he's made up with Laura in Eric's estate. Either way, I feel like roads would instead lead towards coastal fox territory, or perhaps a bee-line to Edinmire.

I think it would make more sense for her to show up on Eric’s ship and for Trace and Flora barely managing to keep Keith from taking his head off right then and there. Maybe Laura could help open Eric’s eyes about Keidran slavery along with Kat and Flora.

2021-11-24 17:42:54 +0000 UTCI was about to call out the Laura Lobby, as many suggestions as they get through, about why they would want precious Laura to be enslaved to Eric (and give him the female fox he has always wanted) but this is nice. How about a third option then? We get that AU pack of KeithxLauraxNatani that has grown in popularity lately X)

2021-11-24 17:38:59 +0000 UTCIf one takes this to its most extreme conclusion, this scenario could quite possibly lead to Eric's untimely demise at the hands of an enraged Basitin's steel. And if Laura did indeed convince Keith to return to Basidia (likely by stealing the Na'Rella and freeing Mike and Evals), and Keith's reaction to Alabaster's orders to kill Nat and Laura strikes him wrong as well, he could very well decide to add Alabaster to the kill count while he's at it. Combine this with the AU where Trace found Natani first and spent his time training himself into both physical and magical shape. Adding in that the lack of Flora's presence might have a destabilizing effect on Trace's psyche AND he'd be far more dangerous thanks to Nat's training. ...Y'all, we might have found the timeline where the gang winds up becoming as bad or WORSE than Trace was during his prime. Imagine after killing Alabaster, Keith has now become the traitor he was fighting to clear his name from. Fed up with Basitin rules and restrictions and backed by Laura, Nat, and Trace, he could make up his mind to stage a full on coup. Throwing down the other generals and challenging Adelaide to either surrender the throne or face him in single combat. If Keith won, they could be returning to Edinmire not with a single ship, but with the full might of the Basitin Armada at their backs. Having decided to end the war between Keidran and humans once and for all. ...One could further wrangle this AU's Zen into finding Sythe, who is no longer preoccupied with tracking down Flora, and helping him stage his own coup to become leader of the Wolven kingdom. And boom! We're in the Emperor Sythe AU too! AND they have a walking nuke in the form of an unhinged and fully powered Trace, now bent to the whims of his former Wolven enemies. Natani's secret might not have been revealed to Keith since the bath incident might not happen, but they still need sparring partners. It is a bit painful to see Laura in shackles.
