Willow's Origin

Willow's friend slipped down a muddy hill in the rain and was pierced by a branch. Willow grieved as she slowly succumbed her in injuries. The Will-o-the-Wisp would take on her friends appearance and take up her own lantern, swearing to hide herself so no one would follow her again.

Broccoli boy

Thank you very much for The Sad, Tom, good stuff :D

Willow should have a little scar on her stomach every time we see her from now on

Elvenhunter84

okay but imagine how much that would've hurt. slipping on mud and then falling into a super sharp branch.

JAB the Tab

holy shit dude that's cool as hell!

JAB the Tab

I loathe morality.

A sad ending. Good work!

And Roughlandin. This one works out really well as a lead up to the inevitable that Crimson Quill brings to life below. 5 stars also.

Dude! I’m not crying! I’m just… sweating, from the corners of my eyes… Good job here Crimson. This one gets my approval.

DarthKeidran

"H-hello? C-can you hear me?" The girl didn't respond, her eyes half-shut, staring sightlessly ahead. Blood dripped from the loose bandages around her waist, and the branch in front of her whence she'd fallen. "C-come on! Wake up! Please...we're almost there, I can feel it! Wake up!" The wisp circled frantically, flying above the girl's head, and then dropping in front of her face... "Please...wake up..." Still, only silence, silence and blood. Her white fur, now dripping wet, matted and clumped. And still, the wisp begged... "I c-can still b-bring you home..." Through the trees, amidst the din of the rain, one might have heard a muffled sobbing. At once, it was natural...and ethereal. The wisp hung forlornly over the corpse of her friend...they were so close. So close! She knew it, they had just had to keep travelling...North? Or was it North east? To the hill? No, they'd been there...but maybe over to the west... No...that wasn't how it was... She gazed at her friend's lifeless face. All the time they'd been together...but in the end, what was it for? "I never wanted this...I never wanted to lead you h-here..." Still, the forest lay silent. The wisp knew, deep down, she would not wake up...anyone she met, no matter what she wanted...met the same fate. She looked down. A lantern lay on the grass. It was whole. The wisp looked from her friend to the lamp...and back again. "Everytime I meet someone...' she mumbled...'I lead them astray..." The forest flashed, and the rain was drowned out by a piercing cry. A light flared above the lioness' body, and from it, a shadow began to emerge. Bone and muscle, skin and fur, built bit by bit in light... The forest darkened, and fell quiet. There was naught but the dead lioness, her eyes unseeing. A pair of hands, white like hers, reached down, and gently, carefully, closed them. The figure was much like the girl...save for the ever shifting black patterns on her fur...and her eyes. Where a normal Keidran's eyes should be were black pits, and at the heart of them, azure light glowed. Willow the Wisp took up her lantern, and made her first step. "I'm sorry...friend...", she whispered. The girl lay quiet, beautiful, even in death. Willow turned, and made her way back into the forest. "I swear to you...I will never lead anyone astray again." (Sorry for the wall of text...I am bad at short form storytelling. But I might as well give it a go.)

I think Magpie is included in this plot somewhere, too.

Roughlandin

A heart wrenching but wonderful piece of Willow lore. The more I see, the more I want to know! Here's hoping we get to see this wonderfully moving looking adventure some day. Great work as always, Tom!

???: "Hmm. Seems I've gotten myself quite thoroughly turned around. Think you can lead me out of here, little light?" Willow: "I... I don't know. I don't even know where you want to go." ???: "Ha! I think about anywhere would be better than here. No offense, friend." Willow: "Friend? What is a... friend?" ???: "You don't know what a friend is?" Willow: "No. I've never had one." ???: "Friends... Friends help each other when they need something." Willow: "Need something? Like what?" ???: "Anything. An extra hand. A favor. Directions out of a dark and spooky wood. Sometimes just... not to be so alone." Willow: "Oh. That sounds... nice." ???: "That it does. So, think we can help each other out?" Willow: "I don't know... But maybe we can try... friend." Willow's friend: *Smiling.* "Friends to the end."

Roughlandin

This is really sad. On the one hand I hope we get more of the side story that was planned with Willow, Amelia, Windstraw, and I think I’m missing some others. I do hope we can see a image set in this side story scenario where Willow is able to come to terms with what happened. I also wouldn’t mine other scenarios depicted where Willow is about to be happy, or by some miracle leads someone safely somewhere.

DarthKeidran

Poor Willow, you deserve better!

Yeash... all the Flora boob size jokes and pictures of Kat looking amazing make me forget sometimes how easily things can get dark with some of these.
