Just depends on where the borders of the former snow leopard and northern cats would have been. Now it's just about half and half between humans and wolves

Sure, the Vikings that most affected UK and North America were Danish and Norwegian. But the Swedish Vikings may have started the first Russian kingdom [ https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viking#Bos%C3%A4ttare_och_er%C3%B6vrare ]. That myth may have gotten a boost lately, since Swedes at the time was a half Slavic cross road of migrants according to current ancient genome data and tomb finds.

Some history of the (real life) Norwegian Forest Cat: originally short-haired, brought to Norway by the Vikings, and then interbred with other European long-haired breeds (such as the Angora), brought there by Crusaders. The cats are probably the descendants of the cat of Viking legend, the “skogkatt”, which was famously known for scaling sheer rock-cliffs, with its strong claws. Bred by Vikings to serve as mousers on their farms, as well as on their ships, the cats are one of the few domestic breeds to have no fear of water, and actually do have a water-shedding outer layer of fur, with thick cottony insulating fur underneath. They are large, strong, and incredibly hardy to harsh weather conditions. They are very similar to the American Maine Coon breed.
