So it seems like there's more to this game than we know...
Something I don't think I bring up with these WIP posts is the frustration of getting EXACTLY the expression you wanted in the sketch phase and finding it very difficult to recapture it when inking. I feel like that's something that happens specifically with facial expressions, where small changes have a bigger impact, and very rarely do I look at a pose or body gesture and feel "it doesn't look as good as the sketch". In this page specifically I feel like I nailed Suarez's face in the middle right panel on my first attempt and it took a lot of work to get the final inking to look as close to it as possible. Hell, I'm super happy with those two middle panels, they came out very storyboard-y.
Speaking of Suarez it's always weird to me when I draw him with an open mouth from below, especially with his front upper teeth visible (which are almost always obscured by his nose), but that final panel was a blast to draw. My only regret is that I would have made it bigger to make it more impactful, but sometimes the script doesn't leave room for that. Considering the previous page also has a big impactful moment equally deserving a lot of page real estate and there isn't enough in the middle to justify splitting this page into two, it will have to do.
