BMZ - Interests (WIP & PSD)

Making this strip set was fucking weird, if figured I'd explain that since you guys are paying for the WIP after all and might like a tour of the sausage factory.

I started with strip 2, I thought "what if boomer complains about drag queens while wearing a Kiss shirt" was a decent joke and meant for it to be a one-off. Then I figured I could add more to it by having Boomer get upset that Miles is on the phone instead of watching the movie together, so I did part 3.

I did those two strips way ahead of release, like three months ago, and since I was busy getting Minotaur Hotel 0.5 finished at the time I decided to do the strip with Miles and his friends before this one since, you know, it reuses the same backgrounds and some of the poses. Which was kind of a shitty idea since it required three characters per panel and I didn't want to completely half-ass it so I didn't end up reusing assets much as I expected and it still required effort.

SO ANYWAY, while I was doing those I figured the third strip was not a very good conclusion, especially since Miles brings up in the previous strip that there's more to their relationship than just sex. If I wrap up the strip with them concluding they're not into each other's chosen entertainment and decide to just fuck right there, doesn't that make Miles a giant hypocrite? So I had to do part 4 to wrap it up.

And now we have a three parter that starts out of nowhere with the drag queen strip, so I figured, well, might as well give this one a bit of an introduction. With a little Joe sprinkled in because he's fun to draw and always facilitates comedy. So the order for doing these is all over the place and the strips are not super cohesive but I think it made for an entertaining little arc anyway.

So uh, yeah, hope that little insight into the creative process was fun to read. I was planning on doing a bonus panel for this one but A) didn't have the time and B) I kind of liked the idea behind it and came up with fun ways to build on it, so I'm making it a full fledged strip and I will be posting that next week.
