Yea the time-skip here kinda relies heavily on the power of friendship which honestly I think they could have gone with a better explanation that still would have made sense. Before Acnologia's attack hit in ep. 122, they were all holding hands in the circle to pool their magic power and activate at least SOME kind of defense as a last ditch effort. Instead of using the "bonds of friendship and trust", they could have just had Mavis say she redirected that accumulation of magic power to activate Fairy Sphere, which would have been less trope-y and more technical. But either way as Death Knight said, the time skip functions as both a way to put in a hard reset for the guild's power level in universe (they're pretty much starting from the bottom again) and to introduce the last of the 3 Grand Fairy spells (first was Fairy Law introduced by Makorov in the Phantom Lord arc, then Fairy Glitter very recently via Cana vs Bluenote, and now the activation of Fairy Sphere). Also in terms of people dying so far, there's been a couple, albeit no main characters that I can recall. So our death count so far is Master Zero/Brain from the Oracion Seis and a few members of Grimoire Heart in the Tenrou arc (Zordio aka the dude who was possessing Capricorn, Master Hades, Azuma aka the Arc of Trees guy who fought Erza, and Zancrow aka the Flame God Slayer dude). So that's 5 people dead, 6 if you count Ur's ice being melted in the Galuna Island arc, though she kinda is around in spirit.

to kind of clarify WHY there was a timeskip (no spoilers) it kind of had to happen to have believable story progression at that point, its been a while but when they fought grimoire heart at that time grimoire heart was the strongest of the baram alliance without question (the baram alliance being 3 major dark guilds, oracion seis, grimoire heart, tartaraus and their branching dark guilds) so when they defeated grimoire heart pretty much no one could even stand up to them and any suspense/tension built from "a strong powerful enemy" just wouldnt have existed, so they had a 7 year time gap and why they focused so much on just how much is changed is to show that before there wasnt any threats and now after 7 years that all could have changed and acnologia served to be a wall for us and them to see for how much it will ramp up

I'm glad you're continuing this series, Fairy Tail really is better than most people give it credit for. If you've decided to skip the next arc, that's perfectly fine, its your decision. But I would still suggest watching it on your own, if nothing else. Some of it is absolutely hilarious and some of my favorite comedy moments come from this next arc. And episode 125 is just a good, episodic adventure. Still, really happy Fairy Tail is back!

Don't worry Fairy Tail is the secondary reason I'll stay subbed to your main channel. I just hope that the reactions themselves continue. I don't even need any context or "reaction". Just like that one time when Edolas Arc had a fail upload it wouldn't matter to me to get any "content" but rather just your expressions along with watching the anime again. (Having a great reactor plus an excuse to watch one of your favourite animes once again is just a great experience over all)

I totally respect your decision to skip the filler arcs! If you do get curious on more closure for Lucy's dad, Kinana (the purple-haired waitress)'s story, or want to see more of how Romeo's grown, I recommend watching it in your own time when you're able to.

YES FAIRY TAIL IS BACK, I can't wait to see more. Also I felt the same when I first saw this arch. I would have dropped the show to, if they got rid of the main crew. I also have no problem with not watching the filler, the only one I hope you at least watch off camera is the Zero arch. It has to deal with Mavis and the founding of Fairy Tail so it's a really good. Other than that, I don't mind you skipping filler. Do you still plan on watching the movies, I think they are canon, though I never really pay any attention. To filler and canon stuff I just watch the shows. If you do that's awesome if not it's no big deal, I'm just glad Fairy Tail is back and can't wait to see more.

the canon arc that comes next is my absolute favorite arc so im excited to see reactions to it. And its fine if you wanna skip the filler. I understand why you wanna skip the filler it definitely drags but just a heads up that since alot of the filler arcs are anime canon they tend to reference stuff from those arcs in the canon arcs so dont be surprised if you get confused by those random moments here and there if they talk about stuff you havent seen (for instance the filler arc that comes in the next few episodes has info on Lucy's dad that was meant to be canon but was not in the manga since the author lacked time to add it in)

I'm literally so happy to see that fairytail is back, when I first started watching anime my brother showed me most of his favorites first and fairytail was one of the first I watched on own, so it holds a special place in my heart. I love to see your reactions of it, it brightens up my day every time I see and get to watch a new upload of it.

So glad to see the Fairy Tail reactions to return and the reaction to these episodes was everything I couldve wished for. I dont blame u for deciding to skip the fillers, I know some stuff from them does get mentioned in future canon arcs but Ive always found them difficult to go thru so you're probably better off

I would double check again. I've had this problem with series for multiple different people. It's usually a problem with them forgetting to put the tag for the series on the post or accidentally putting it in another tier. I haven't gone back to check for his Fairy Tail reactions but I assume it is probably a tag issue. Just look up the episodes on the general search on his page.
