Binging your reactions tonight and just wanted to say here this stuff is why WCI was my favourite arc for a long long time. This moment gets tears out of me nearly every time And yeah the ad break thing was weird. I know it was an hour long special but even then it was dumb. Unfortunate but oh well

An interesting wrinkle to All The Breaks that I noticed: this is the pair of episodes where Sanji parts ways with the crew, and they show every single crew member throughout the episode, as a subtle nod towards what he's leaving behind. I don't think it's good, but if you're gonna do this many breaks, at least they used it for *something*.

Y’all are being way too unfair on Ruff, he’s actually right it is disrespectful to the content to throw in 3 ad breaks per episode. Even though there was a reason because of the double airing in Japan, Ruff didn’t know that so his reaction is absolutely fair. Get off Toei’s d*ck please it was so annoying for viewers to be taken away from the moment, I was mad too

Very different circumstances. Zoro would not stand for this, which is why I think Oda wanted him absent for the arc (part of the reason). This time Sanji is straight up disrespecting the crew and Luffy's role as Captain, on top of severely injuring him. Zoro would have been ready to kill and likely only wouldn't due to Luffy telling him to stop. And not because of any beef he has with Sanji. I believe he would react the same way with any other capable fighter of the crew.

I don't know if you are aware, but originally 807 and 808 were aired together as a one-hour tv-special, which is why there are a lot of title cards.
