honestly if you think about it I'm glad none of these movies are canon and don't really involve Oda since if they did one piece would probably never end if they took side trips every 2 years or so Also I'm all for a little "strawhat vacations" here and there but in the long run they diminish what luffy has achieved in such a short time going through the grand line and it also keeps everyone on their toes like you might hear luffy taking down doflamingo in the news paper and by then he's already picking a fight with another warlord or Yonko

Heck, Stampede spoiled something that hadn't even been confirmed in the manga at the time of the movie's release. It's a very minor thing so it probably won't matter much but if your mantra is "no spoilers whatsoever" then you'd kinda have to wait 'till mid way through Wano.

Film Gold was one of my favorite OP movies (along with Film Z) and I'm so happy you reacted to it. Funny thing, when I first watched Film Gold, I didn't even know about the Heart of Gold pre-movie thing, so the entire time, I was so confused as to where Carina came from. Awesome reaction, man. (Sabo was my favorite part of the movie. I lost my mind when I saw him XD)

Oda's official involvement in films is sometimes understated by a few misinformed people. Of course many characters are his designs but these films are directly overseen by Oda to some degree. In fact, Film: Gold's director's storyboard had a climax Oda didn't vibe with, so he collaborated to change it. Even then Oda's board for the end was actually 4 times too long and had to be cut.
