We don't have a concrete answer, but in the episode Luffy says "the elephant isn't listening to me" so at the very least Luffy thinks he tried and was unheard or ignored.

Nami was basically asking "so, if the Poneglyphs are the way to Raftel, but not the Log Pose, then is the Log wrong?" And they more or less answered "no, the Log isn't wrong-- at the end of that path is when you would normally find out about the Road Poneglyphs, and have to start over on exploring the Grand Line." Which is evidently what Roger had to do. But I'm not sure how literal that "starting over" is. Did he have to literally go back over Reverse Mountain and redo the entire line? Or is it more that what he thought would be the end was instead a sort of beginning, as he then had to search for the road to Raftel? But anyways. Nami's concern was just whether or not the Log was wrong, and the answer was "the Log is right, but you're already one step past that destination." Or something like that.

As the leading character Luffy would naturally be connected to everything in the series, but Oda ties things so seamlessly I wouldn't be suprised if luffy stepped on a branch in the first episode and it became an entire arc. Out of all the anime I have seen Oda is the G.O.A.T of weaving stories and connections. I am waiting to see, but now that there is a connection between Luffy, Momo, and the elephant seems like Oda is weaving his magic again.

In defense of Luffy's bad memory concerning Marco, I think they only really met that once and a lot of other stuff happened in Marineford, culminating in Ace's death, which was very traumatizing for Luffy. So, him not remembering Marco makes a lot of sense to me. And Robin's way of reminding him cracks me up every time. God, I love One Piece XD

The reason people talk about Wano a lot and Zou barely is because of course Wano is the current arc BUT also because Wano is probably the best arc in the entire story.

no one really talks about how much time luffy saved on his trip due to meeting the right people. Your suppose to get to the last island and find a clue that says "go check the entire rest of the world for hints on a secret last island". but luffy was on the secret journey from the start. Roger had to get to the end, sail ALL THE WAY BACK i mean skypia is so far away. search every island probably on many routes to find all the hidden clues. Then find raftel. Now all the emporers have gathered the red poneglifs, old roger pirates are pointing the way i mean luffy really saved a lot of time here.

We still don't know what his crime was, not just in the current anime but even in the manga. A popular theory is that he was the one who failed to deliver that giant ship Noah to the Fishman in time for...whatever the plan with it was.

I think theres a reason for that but I cant say too much here cause maybe spoilers but I think its possible Zunesha WAS able to hear them but cant listen for "reasons" and I think watching this now I had a absolute mindfuck on why I think Luffy can hear Zunesha and the Sea Kings but cant say cause of spoilers

One of the best arcs in OP! I love Zou!! To be clear on whether Luffy can order Zunesha, I don't think so! Inuarashi (Dog Storm) was saying that both Oden and Roger could hear Zunesha but can't get through to it! That's why it's a miracle for them that Momonosuke can actually talk and be heard by Zunesha!
