I remember when the 4kids dub first came out, I dropped it after only a few episodes because of how bad it was

2021-11-28 12:35:36 +0000 UTCI had a chance to watch the 4Kids dub as a kid. Back then, I was super into Dragonball and Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon like your typical 90s kid. But when I saw an ad for the series, I was like, "...Zolo? A rubber person? Pass." That was my first impression of One Piece, and I never gave it a fair shake until I've grown up. Now I wanted to slap my kid self in the face for not watching this great disaster. If anything, it probably would have made me buy the manga...and keep on buying it up to the 100th volume.

I know it's technically made in Paris, but it's very anime-style anyway. Only 9 episodes so should be digestible. Of course you can wait until you have time, but I really recommend the show :)

2021-11-21 15:19:17 +0000 UTCAs far as I'm aware, 4kids removed the Laboon episodes altogether, and ended on the last episode of Alabasta. That was the cliffhanger where a ship falls from the sky before they look for sky island. Meaning 4kids ended by implying they all died when it fell on them.
