Nami convincing the crew to help the kids is an underrated moment. They never say it, but the fact that they linger on her tattooed arm where her Arlong mark used to be, I believe in that moment she was thinking about how much she would have wanted someone to help and save her when she was a child under Arlong's thumb and realizes she wants to do for these kids what no one did for her until Luffy and crew came along. ;_;

I think I actually read somewhere that before Oda wrote the Punk Hazard arc he was planning on writing in 2 separate arcs with one being a lava island and one being an ice island but he didnt have enough time to implement all his ideas cuz of deadlines so he just decided to combine his ideas into a single arc and tied it into the story (with Aokiji & Akainu being the link). Apparently he has done this many times throughout the series

The power of Hindsight is so fun in One Piece, there's obviously ideas as it goes, but you can tell the story is written in a way Oda knows how he wants it to end, he does though, but you can see it.

in rewatching One Piece with Ruff I've once again realized that Oda is the goddamn master of foreshadowing. sometimes there are panels/scenes where I go "he's showing this character NOW!?" and it's crazy how rewatchable One Piece is becaue of it, even though it's so long.
