Luffy's chest scar happened when Akinu punched through Junpei and him during Marineford. As for Zorro who knows if we'll ever find out what happened to his eye, but we will get glimpses into the training each of them underwent as the series progresses as well as the improved power and new techniques of each of them.

Admittedly I can't watch Marineford without binging through the reunion too because of how much joy it brings, but padding aside, some of the arcs coming up are just so GOOD pusfhaufa[pue. Dressrosa is one of my faves tbh (minus the annoying padding and ridiculous animation for the ladies who deserve better) so I am flipping out. Also, make sure you have tissues for like. Every arc. I won't say which one, but the thing that makes me cry second hardest in the entire series (with Ace being #1 ) is yet to come :'D

i love how oda did the strength growth comparison by making them effortlessly destroy something that took everything from all of the straw hats combined to tackle. its super hype. other shows do time skip power up showcases but its rarely in such a way like this where you can see a clear difference because they fought them before.

We already know what Luffy's chest scar is from. It's just from Marineford when Akainu blasted him and Jimbe when they were fleeing. It's not obvious because afterwards his chest was covered in bandages or his shirt. It literally took me a rewatch to figure it out though, so not super obvious.

Only movies before Film Z can be watched at this moment of the anime. You can watch the Episode of Alabasta and the Episode of Skypiea, which are great refreshers of the story. After this coming arc, there's going to be about 2 specials (combined is about 2.5 hours) and Film Z to watch, which is a favorite.

Woo! We in the second half. I agree man, I wouldn't of been able to rewatch this much onepiece without great reactions. The manga and anime is getting so hype atm. You've probably timed this really well in terms of being able to binge until finale teritory. I've only been reacting to the manga since around ep 700 in order to save up eps to binge haha... Reading the chapter and theorising every week is also really fun.. huge youtube community for that
