You gotta love the clown. Sure, he's a ruthless selfish pirate but he's made you want to root for him, especially after seeing how his crew see him. Weak? Sure, but he's a captain that his men love and he treats them well, the party animals they are. I'd put them up as the "most fun antagonistic crew to be on."

It's funny listening to him talk about how weekly readers/watchers must have gone crazy waiting for this to come out back when this saga was being released. This chunk of One Piece holds a special place in my heart because I became a weekly reader back when this arc first began; I think the most recent chapter at the time finished with Hancock walking into the prison. Can confirm that the community was stressed for months on end. But my God was an amazing year for One Piece that was. Cannot wait for the rest of these reactions!

Buggy:"HAAAAAA?!?!" and the second one I swear, Buggy hits the Wall because he wasn't looking where he was going and Luffy automatically asumes "Eh? Going through is faster? we know why she fell in love though, so why theorize? He was the one that listened to her and didn't judge her for what she has been through. The is huge for her, because men to her are these heartless selfish creatures from what shes seen. the contrast was massive and blew her away. Doesn't automatically mean a women will fall in love, but in this context its what did it for her.

You are wondering why most people, men and women, love Hancock so much. I think it has to do with her ability and willpower. She has conquerers haki, just like Luffy and the devil fruits often comes with secondary effects. And when Luffy used his Haki against Boas sisters, she got hit by her own secondary effect, thats why she have such a crush on Luffy. At least this is my theory, the only way it makes sense to me. But after all, she's still a b*tch ;) (and Robin is a dozen times hotter, in my opinion)

Luffy did not learn or control haki

Buggy and Ace became friends, when Ace snuck on board and ate a lot of their food. Buggy freaked out when he saw whitebeards mark after almost picking a fight with Ace and they became friends. Episode 233 I believe so understandable you forgot. Buggy and Shanks were on the same boat though back in the day.
