If you must read on I would pick up the manga about 10 or so chapters before the end of the anime. Because if I remember right the manga lease in some hooks for the next arc that are more clear.

I went right into the manga where the anime left off and didn't feel thrown off or anything. Chapters can be dense with text - but I'm enjoying being able to continue the story before I go back and maybe read the manga from the start (with hope that maybe one day we get more HxH)

Since I don't know if you ever picked up on it, the reason for the gender confusion is that Alluka/Nanika is a trans girl. Killua is the only one in the family who treats her like a girl. Once again solidifying Killua as the best IMO.

Tsubone at the start was talking about Illumi when saying he lacks humanity and deviates from being an assassin. Telling us Illumi is just a straight psycho. Pariston is a straight psycho as well. He's the reason the Zodiacs didn't help during the CA arc. He let the things escalate then only enabled limited assistance just to troll Netero and see how he could handle the situation with so many disadvantages....for shits and giggles. With manga start at 340. Either live or on your own followed by a discussion video. Chapters are all fairly to very dense.

If you think about it really hard, you realize that Pariston always was where he wanted to be. The "2nd in command" gets no decision power but gets INFLUENTIAL POWER over decisions that the 1st in command takes. The dude just plays chess in real life.

If you wanna continue the story, you can continue from the end of the anime. It's not strictly necessary to read form the beginning, since the anime is pretty loyal to the manga. I still don't recommend continuing to read though, since this is the closest thing you will ever have to a concluded story. The amount of blue balls you recieve from continuing to read is insane. Such a shame it won't be finished

well my theory is this:Alluka was always weak so no one in the family except Killua showed interest in her, but because Killua was a lot of the time in jobs/killing people or just training she became lonely and conditioned herself to a split personality of making wishes just so she would be wanted by others, her nen category probably was a Conjurer and as Kurapikas teacher said they have a high chance of becoming a Specialist under special conditions, so she conjured Nanika/Something while Nanika/Something herself is a Specialist just like how Kurapika is when his eyes are red. Killua is the only one to accept her as a real person so that made Nanika/Something to really love him which is why she is willing to accept commands from Killua

I would just pick up from the anime if I were you, I’m almost positive it would be chapter 340
