I feel like I had to comment. Dressrosa is my #1 fave Arc. I never once felt like it dragged on. Pacing is bad? No way. So much shit happens and it keeps you intrigued. Its very important and one can say its part of the catalyst that jumps start Wano. Well, Punk Hazard kinda does that when introducing a couple characters as well as bringing back someone else. Like seriously, if there's an annoying Arc (I won't say bad, bc I just love OP too much) is Thriller Bark. I don't see how people be hating on Dressrosa..... Buy seriously, I agree with Doolally, I'm pretty pawsitive you'll love it. Wait until you meet "Lucy". XDXDXD

I feel you'll love dressrosa. Like it's an important arc I will admit it drags at some points but it's enjoyable. Brook is also my second favorite strawhat, Sanji being my first Sanji also is my favorite in the entire series.

I agree that the One Pace version of Dressrosa is much better than the normal one, but still has its problems, One Pace is trying to be an exact replica of the manga and this ends up causing continuity issues in many scenes. For example there are a lot of original scenes on fights and One Pace skips all the things that are not in the manga so we end up with fights where the characters are practically teleporting because of the missing scenes of the original anime, music is another problem of One Pace because by skiping scenes you also skip the music on them so the tracks are all over the place. The good thing is that it reduces Dressrosa from being 118 episodes to 48 episodes, i watched it last month with my brother and sadly i wouldnt call the One Pace version the definitive one, but at least is much better than the original one.

To offer some insight on Dressrosa that you stated at the beginning of the video: the pacing of the Dressrosa portion of the anime is atrocious and there's a lot of recap and flashbacks that get abused to pad out the time. However. HOWEVER. The Dressrosa arc as a story is one of the hypest and BEST parts of the series. The people who complain about the pacing are 100% correct. And the people who say it's the best One Piece has to offer are also correct (it's subjective, so not 100% to some). But note that the biggest critics of the pacing are those who care the most about the fidelity of the story, BECAUSE of how good it is. So don't worry about the story being bad. It's not. You just may eventually hit a point where you trudge because of how Toei adapts OP nowadays. I would personally recommend that after the Time Skip you watch One Pace. Dressrosa's treatment in One Pace is fantastic, as well as pretty much all of the post-TS arcs.

Also wanted to say, I noticed you were confused when they first mentioned the paddles on the Sunny, I recommend watching all fillers the first time through even if you don't wanna react to them. Just like in free time (if you have any) just watch them. They're good too

Hello Ruff, one thing you might be interested in is some tomes called "One Piece Red", "Blue", "Yellow" and "Green". They are databooks that include a compilation of curiosities about the series but, more importantly to YOU, the Cover Stories. I think "Green" contains every Cover Story up to chapter 500 or so in the anime. If you want to read them (they are probably the biggest difference with the anime) and feel buying the whole manga is a lot of money (it is), give that a try.

Also dressrosa is a very good arc with bad pacing at times BUT it is mainly only in dressrosa the arc after which I will not name has good pacing back. But I highly recommend watching the rest of one piece, as someone who’s read the manga and watched up to the current season I think the anime sometimes really adds that little extra kick of emotions and makes it worthwhile, so yeah keep up the good work bro :)

I had no problem with pacing sincei could binge it. I mean yeah the recap was a bit much but overall if you dont have t owait its no issue and i love Dressrosa.

So in terms of Dressrosa, the anime suffered because of the pacing and the best way to describe it is chapters vs episodes. Up until Enies Lobby, there was always more chapters vs episode, which makes sense since the manga can be condensed. The problem is that they started to stop condensing it. Thriller Bark is almost the same amount of chapters vs episodes and it stays like that for a while now. With Dressrosa, the manga was a whopping 102 chapters, the longest arc to date but it was brilliantly paced and is honestly a master class in story writing, but the anime arc is 118 episode. 118.... the pacing suffered horrendously, the animation quality took a nose dive and because they dragged it out, people took out a lot of hate on the arc. You tend to go in without judgement so hopefully you'll enjoy it for what is it despite the bad. And as for Thriller Bark, enjoy the light-hearted fun while it lasts. You're gonna need it!

There was a quality drop in dressrosa since toei was working on a one piece movie and pulled staff away from the anime. Plus there was filler mixed in and some pacing issues. Personally I had to drop it when watching it weekly but overall I now think its a good arc despite a lot of flaws on the adaptation.

Dressrosa's showdown is more than worth the hype. It's definitely on the same level as Luffy vs Lucci. The problem probably lies in the pace leading up to the showdown, but not only is there a big reveal, there's also the darkest and most soul-shattering backstory yet.

Thriller Bark is one of those arcs that you can tell Oda enjoyed creating. Not to mention he's a huge Tim Burton fan which explains a lot lol But I think you'll really enjoy this arc. Also, Luffy has been asking for a musician since East Blue, right after Buggy's arc ended I believe. He finally got what he wished for!!

And you can see from the appearance of the creatures on the island that Tim Burton is also referenced here and there. and also when Brook says he's called "dead and skeletonized Brook" the subtitles are actually kinda wrong he's actually saying "Dead Only Bones" or "Dead All Bones" Brook as his title And yes back in the first few episodes when they first met Nami, Luffy said he wanted a musician in his crew and has said it several times over the course of the series. It's been a running joke for a while now. It was all leading up to this

You said comedy arc haha while that is true, it’s also one where the (in my opinion) saddest backstory is told! If you already love Brook, you’re in for a treat! Also about dressrosa. I think mostly manga readers are vocally against this arc because in the manga, the arc was running for YEARS. A bit exaggerated but yeah at least a year. That’s why a lot of people got tired of it but bad pacing aside. Dressrosa is the arc with more than one of the most important and shocking reveals! Things are going down in that arc and it had me off my Seat as soon as we got to the important stuff. Love these reactions, Ruff!

Thriller Bark baby! And we finally meet Brook lol. I remember how it took 2 and a half arcs to get to Franky, but we meet Brook like in the second episode of this arc. That's why One Piece is amazing, you would think that we would get an arc or two with Franky and then meet a new member, but nope he just appears and wins your heart.

Robin's backstory is pretty bad but Brook takes the cake for the saddest backstory. Sanji starved, Robin had no friends and was always running. Brook "starved" for decades and also had no one to talk to !!!! My heart goes out for Brook, not that he can reciprocate the feeling since he's all bones!!!

Ennies lobby is not the best arc. For me there are still 2 arcs better than ennies lobby. So just remember that even tho the pacing generally gets worse, the anime in general including the story and characters gets so much better
