Episode 3 progress report #1: Title reveal and polls results

Hello and welcome to the first bi-weekly (as in, once every two weeks) progress report!

We’re now at 42 subscribers, including 14 paying supporters, and I truly cannot thank you enough. Your encouragement is an incredible rush—and I’ll do everything I can to make it worth your while.

Now, let’s dive into this update. It’s been an exciting couple of weeks with the launch of Episode 2, the opening of this Patreon, and the first-ever community polls. Let’s keep the momentum going with a roundup of what’s new!

Polls results

I ran two separate polls asking you guys what your favorite primary and secondary characters are respectively, and I have to say I'm pretty surprised by the results! Here they are:

• Primary Character: Elena

Elena took the top spot, with Jade just behind, Max and Mr. White tied for third, and Gabriel in last place—sorry, Gabriel fans! This wasn’t a binding poll, but I’ll absolutely be keeping these results in mind as I write Episode 3.

• Secondary Character: Brad

Now this one really surprised me! This poll was only open to paying subscribers, so there were fewer votes overall—but Brad came out on top as the most screen-time-worthy secondary character, with 3 votes. I guess you’re all craving some jock-on-femme action… noted 😏.

After Brad, the previous Slayer got 2 votes, and Molloch, Michelle, and Miss Nguyen each got 1. Miss Nguyen will be taking more of a backseat this episode (not everyone can be in the spotlight every time!), but as for the rest… I think you’ll be pleased. 😈

Episode 3 status

The most time-consuming part of my process is laying out the structure of each episode—plot arcs, branching paths, major beats—and I’m happy to say Episode 3’s backbone is now mostly complete!*

*Reserving the right to go back to this stage if writing shows significant issues. The last parts of the Episode are a bit less sketched out to leave room for the story to go where it needs to go.

What comes next? Writing! I’ll be translating the outline into rough scenes over the next few weeks. Things may shift a bit as I write—pacing tweaks, new ideas, unexpected connections—but the core elements are all there, and Episode 3 is officially in motion.

Title reveal

Ready? Keeping with the theme of vaguely music-inspired titles, Episode 3 is going to be called...

What love? Whose taint? All will be revealed… in due time.
