I was the same as Ruff. I watched and get confused, easily distracted by the animation and not paying attention to the dialogue and storyline. It took me the 2nd time of rewatching this series to understand better (but not fully) and watch a whole lot of explanation videos and recaps on youtube to help me really understand and appreciate how complex AOT is. And i still feel like there’s more to discover and more gaps to fill.

There were moments when Ruff should've payed more attention instead of commenting, but that's easier said than done. I understand, he wanted to share his thoughts.
