I agree. As far as world building, as well as making you love every character (including some villains), there is nobody better than Eiichiro Oda. Only animes that comes close imo are Hunter x Hunter and Black Clover.

I would totally agree as long as the filler episodes are completely tied to the One Piece World But there are filler episodes that collaborate with Dragon Ball or other series, which I believe are unnecessary to watch

I know that it was discussed before but since you are getting closer to a filler arc I just want to put my two cents in. Please watch the filler and react to it. Filler is part of the experience and I think that you would miss out by skipping them. With the way that One Piece mixes canon stuff into filler, having to jump around to catch the canon will feel really disjointed. Besides, the One Piece filler is actually not that bad. A lot of it I enjoyed quite a bit. They also are not that long. You are not going to be getting 20-50 episodes in a row like other anime. The longest is only like 10 episodes.

I understand what you're saying to long time one piece fans the word Nakama has taken on another meaning. To us it mean "friends (or crewmates) who are closer than family".
