Hello fellow Patrons!
I wish you all a good end of year, whether you're spending it with familly, friends, or by yourself.
On the video above is a little spoiler of another new overlay I've been working on today.
It's a very early preview, it might change, or might never be included in Twitchat. I'll see if I get something I'm satisfied with :D
The idea is to get a cheermote wall.
If user's message is pinned with the new "pinned cheers" feature, cheermotes will appear bigger depending on the pin level (between 1 and 8, based on the given amount, the higher the bigger).
I'm not sure it's very visible but what's new compared to other cheermote walls that may exist is that, if you look closely, cheermotes distort the stream image behind them. I'm not completely satisfied with the distortion yet tho.
Feel free to share any feature idea you may have about this overlay idea :)
In other news, beta tests of Twitchat v11 are going well.
Loads of new stuff have been added that I can't wait to share with everyone!
I was hopping to make it available much earlier this year, but the issue with having too many ideas is that you never stop adding stuff...
I'm thinking about making much smaller and more frequent updates in the future, like I did during first months.
Yes, Twitchat for Youtube should be a thing with next release!
I'm mostly waiting for Google to validate my app and grant me much larger API credits than what they granted me a few weeks ago.
Even if they do grant me those credits, they will still be pretty low. If many Twitchat users connect with Youtube they won't be enough. This means that Youtube connection has high chances to be a premium-only feature.
Youtube credits system is like their API, terribly bad. Unlike Twitch, Youtube credits are global, not per-user. This means that once all credits are spent, the service is down for everyone. I requested enough credits to get roughly 50 users running Twitchat all day long concurrently. Even though the process is annoying, it's still possible to request more credits in the future if necessary.
Thank you all for your continued support π
Twitchat still costs me A LOT more than it brings me, but your support allows me to keep pushing new features for a little longer every month, so thank you π
Have a good day!
