Star Wars: Andor S2 Ep3 Reaction Edited

I don't even know how to describe this episode; I'm shocked at what it was able to pull off, but also completely emotionally devastated from everything that happened!

Next up I think it’s Tales of the Underworld which if I remember correctly is about Bane and Ventress, then it should be Skeleton Crew and the Sequel Trilogy.

This episode was just amazing in every way, and I can’t believe this was only the first arc of the season! Loved seeing the two sides of Andor presented through this journey with his cold, level-headed self, handling the missions but as soon as he hears that there’s a chance his family’s in trouble, he drops everything to get to them! It’s such a great way to show the legacy of Maarva on him that no matter where the Rebellion leads him, he’ll now always be there for the ones he loves. The wedding is so annoyingly devastating, Mon tried so hard to handle all this and even reached out one last time only to be shot down; in this crowd full of people she could not be more alone. It’s so sad to see and think about her situation as everyone she cares about, she can’t be close with, Perrin, Leida, and now Tay. Cinta showing up at the end tells us all we need to know about what happens next, but it still must be awful for Vel to see her here after worrying for so long, only to know that Cinta’s been so close and just hasn’t bothered to reach out. Oh this scene was just phenomenal!! I loved every second of it and looking back there’s so many details involved to show off how annoying and overbearing Eedy is to both Dedra and Syril, the biggest example which I can’t believe I missed while watching is that she’s quite literally the only spot of colour in this entire room and that’s done to disrupt Dedra and Syril’s setting. This whole scene felt very iconic so it’s awesome to know it spawned a meme! And I figured there had to be some improvised parts of this and having Syril laying on the bed being one of this is just amazing! Yeah knowing that Brasso wasn’t betrayed makes this somehow even more painful! In his last moments, the man continued to protect those around him which is just the kind of Angel he is! I’m so sad that he’s gone and won’t be in the show anymore, but at least B is happy running around with Talia and hopefully he’s doing well. It really is such a shame that there escape was so possible, if Wil hadn’t run off or if Brasso simply hadn’t gone to get him, the Imperials might not have noticed anything, Wil even got back to Bix without being seen so it would have all worked out if Brasso stayed put. This scene was so insanely powerful, I love that this show takes full advantage of the fact that it’s Star Wars for adults and really does into themes like this. It works so well for Bix’s character with everything she’s been to as it’s so satisfying seeing her save herself and not let the Empire take advantage of her anymore. Plus, it’s also great worldbuilding to the evils of the Empire, we know this entire thing is full of awful people so it makes sense that this kind of thing would run rampant in places like this.

Such a great episode to close out the arc with. In the last two episodes we saw Cassian being a professional level headed operative, yet now we see the other side: the passion and caring. Without hesitation he cuts off the call and dismisses orders in order to check on his friends/family. In a way this makes him a significantly worse operative but like Maarva said so truthfully: "That's just love. Nothing you can do about that." The wedding has concluded and don't worry, you got Leida's name right. Mon finds herself very alone in a world where her relationships with her daughter is strained, she can't confide in her husband and now she lost her best friend since childhood and all she can do is drink and dance the pain away. To try to hide her suffering from the galaxy. At least she has Vel for the moment before Luthen has her off again on a mission with Mon worrying for her. Cinta showing up to pick up Tay is such a chilling way to conclude that bit of the story. Loved Dedra, Syril and Eedy scene, how uncorfortable both Syril and Dedra were. Eedy has mastered a certain way of being a jerk. Speaking in a way that sounds almost polite while rejecting the hand shake and throwing barely veiled insults until Dedra finally put her on her place. The scene also spawned a meme with the line "Mother, you're dripping" which has been constantly applied to the terrific costume designs in the show. Fun fact: The scene of Syril lying down, defeated, was actually not in the script. I'm sure other comments which I'm yet to read, have already mentioned that Kellen, the farmer, didn't betray the Ferrix group. Brasso got caught on his own and covered for Kellen like the great man he is. May he rest in peace. At least B is in good hands with Talia and they can take care of each other. Frankly I think the imperial presence seemed lacking enough that they would have avoided these complications if Brasso didn't have to go find Wilmon and they could have left immediately. A shame to be sure but points for Wilmon for staying true to his word. He promised Beela that he wouldn't leave without saying goodbye. Then there was Lieutenant Krole.. Yeah, Andor really is "star wars for adults" with darker and more realistic themes than can generally be found in star wars. It makes sense for such disgusting individuals to get power in the Empire. Especially in backwater systems like this where there aren't a plenty to choose from and the Empire doesn't have to worry about how they present to the public. Thankfully Bix bashed his head in, she's been through enough.
