Gladio would also be more likely to try harder to stop Noctis the next time something happened.
I keep imagining a stoic gladio biting his lip as he did it and trying not to let emotion show.

Tho honestly it could be polyship. I also imagine Ignis leaving the room after, they were forbidden from seeing Prompto but Ignis was allowed to treat his injuries maybe. Ignis coming out and theres blood stains on his normally immaculate clothes.
Thats like the last punishment.
To not be allowed to apologise right after.
Maybe Prompto is forced back to work the next day?

I remember having to read the book this is based of in 7th grade. Didn't care for it (but that's because we only got to read a section and mine was the actual whipping where the prince is whipped and I was so confused about everything) but I LOVE the AU in this context!!
